As a photographer and perpetual wanderer with a serious case of the travel bug, my carry-on is my lifeline. I've dragged my gear through cobblestone streets in Lisbon, squeezed into tiny Parisian hotel elevators, and sprinted through terminals in Amsterdam. My search for the perfect suitcase felt endless—until I found the Luggex top-loader. This thing is an absolute epic win for my lifestyle. Let's talk about the TOP-OPEN DESIGN. This is the genius feature I never knew I needed. European hotels are famous for their, ahem, cozy dimensions. Trying to flip open a clamshell case in those spaces is a contortionist act. With this Luggex, I just pop the top while it's upright on the rack or even the floor, and bam—everything is accessible. It’s perfect for my irregularly shaped camera lenses and drone. I can dig for my wide-angle lens without unpacking my entire life. Total game-changer. SPACE & VERSATILITY are incredible. I live by the "one bag" philosophy—20-inch roller plus a backpack—and this case makes it possible. The expandable zipper is a lifesaver! I start my trip lean, and on the return journey, I just unleash the extra space to fit all the local crafts and souvenirs I can't resist. But don't just take my word for it on the depth—check out the photo I attached of my favorite adventure buddy, my adorable pup Bella, who decided the empty suitcase made a perfect new den! If it can comfortably fit a curious 15-pound ball of joy, it can handle my bulkiest photography gear with room to spare. ON THE MOVE, this case is a dream. The wheels glide like they're on a cloud. I did have to gate-check it once on a packed flight, and it truly passed the "airport baggage handler test". It emerged with some scuff marks, but a quick wipe with a soft cloth made them virtually disappear. No permanent scars! This suitcase is seriously tough and the textured shell isn't just for looks—it's built to survive real travel. Now, for a little REAL TALK. Is it perfect? Almost. My one gripe is the lack of a bottom handle. Hoisting this into an overhead bin, especially when it's fully loaded, is a bit awkward. You end up grabbing the wheels, which isn't ideal. A simple handle on that end would make this a solid 5-star+ rating from me. But these are small trade-offs for a suitcase that otherwise perfectly complements my life of spontaneous adventures. It’s durable, brilliantly designed with that crucial expandable section, and makes traveling light and efficient an absolute joy. This Luggex isn't just a piece of luggage; it's my ticket to staying mobile, organized, and ready for my next epic shot. Highly recommended for fellow explorers and their four-legged supervisors! This bag arrived on time and looks just like the pictures. I was very impressed. The front load is a game changer for me. It allows me to pack knowing that the items I need to remove for security or a gate check are easy access without the clam shell and stuff falling out. This also plays a nice roll when removing and replacing travel documents or small items like charging cables on the planes. I fly United and had no problems with this bag’s size. It was gate checked on two flight which were both on an Embraer RJ145. This is a very narrow body plane with 1-2 configuration. Normally they check all hard sides and most soft sides on these flights. I have even had a backpack checked. The luggage came back without a scratch or scuff. It has fit very easily in all other over head storage bins. I have also dropped it a few times and it is holding up well. The zipper was a little stiff on the first few uses but the quality is good without question. I feel for the price and quality you are not going wrong with this bag and get good value for your money. I will add one last thing which may be a negative for some users. This does not have a laptop pouch. I don’t normally travel with a PC so it was not a problem for me. If you bring a PC with you you would need to strap it in with the X straps. But this is no different than a normal clam shell. Update: I have seen a few people complain that the bag is too small. It is a carry-on that meets United Airlines rules barely. Any larger and it would not be a valid carry on. It is still too large for European airlines. Some people have complained about no outside pockets this is a hard side case and most done have outside pockets. Some people complained about the price this is on par with a normal carry-on. It is not marketed as a high end or low end bag. If you want a solid front open hard side carry-on and you are flying US based carriers this is an amazing option at this price point. Read more

I'm impressed! I purchased the carry-on size of the LUGGEX FX series bag. I can't wait to travel with it. I really like the top open trunk concept of this bag. Perfect for traveling with my sewing machine as a carry-on for flights to quilting retreats - plenty of room to put my machine, supplies, and projects! Equally great for vacation travel - fitting plenty of clothes, shoes, etc. The bag seems to be well constructed. I don't plan to check it, so should hold up well. It sure looks nice! Read more

Went on 2 trips with this carryon. It was perfect. I really love the top load feature. Made it easy to repack my liquids after security check. And I was able fit shoes more easily. I have not needed to check it in, but it feels sturdy. The wheels rolled smoothly . The zippers were easy to use and didn’t catch. It was big enough to fit clothes for a week long vacation. I had a daypack as my personal item for electronics and such. Read more

Just got back from Europe and this suitcase worked wonderfully. I was specifically looking for a front opening suitcase since some hotel rooms in Europe tend to be smaller and space is at a premium. Instead of the traditional clamshell luggage that opens down the middle and take up more space, the front opening saves room and actually has more capacity. The suitcase rolled smoothly over a variety of surfaces (including carpet) and was easy to maneuver. Since I use this as a carry-on the polycarbonate shell is not subjected to the usual wear and tear of checked luggage and held up fine. Also, I use a plastic cover to further protect it from scuff marks. The only thing I would change is the 2 pockets on the lid of the suitcase. Would prefer a sleeve for my iPad. Read more

Smaller than expected. The measurements include the wheels while the packing space is small. Read more

Love the top opening feature instead of the clam shell. Seems sturdy and with compact packing cubes can fit quite a bit. Rolls easily and the pull opens and closes pretty easily..so far. I have not actually used this on a plane yet but a trip with my car. Read more
