I am giving this pillow 5 stars, though it did not work for me. I think it will be an excellent find for some who are looking for the qualities this pillow has. First of all, it is excellent quality. It does have a factory smell that I believe will dissipate after a couple days. It is definitely a firm. Like very firm. I am shocked to see people saying this is not a firm pillow. I have been looking for a firm pillow. I have tried 5 so far. They have all been too soft. Then comes this one and somehow it's too hard. I was so bummed. It's also very tall and because it is firm, I didn't sink in far enough into it and it made my neck hurt. I think it'll be awesome for someone else though. I envy that person because this is a great pillow. One thing I want to point out is that in the images for the pillow, it states it is 6 inches. In the product description it says 5 inches. It is in fact 6 inches. I was glad for this at first thinking I maybe wouldn't sink to the bottom. Instead it ended up being too tall. Overall this is a very quality pillow. Firm and supportive. I hope this helps someone in the pillow buying crisis like myself. Read more

Previously had the Casper original and not that impressed. We love the essential pillows! So comfortable and perfect firmness. Read more

This pillow is so close to perfect. It’s incredibly comfortable, supportive, and definitely cooler than a regular pillow. I love the hybrid feel—it’s plush but still holds its shape. That said, my head still sweats a little, so it’s not quite the magical cooling solution I hoped for. But overall, it’s the best pillow I’ve tried in a long time and a huge upgrade from what I had. Just shy of five stars, but still a keeper! Read more

Pillow was received as expected. Great quality, and my BF says it is fluffier and does not need any adjustment during his sleep. Worth the extra for the quality. thank you! Read more

In the past few months, I've tried every kind of pillow imaginable to help alleviate the neck pain I experience at night. Finally, at the recommendation of my sister, I tried this Caspar pillow. On my first night, even though I still had some neck pain in the morning, I wasn't awakened by it and slept through the night. It's only gotten better since then. The pillow is firmer than a down pillow, but it still has a fluffy (not thick) feel to support me whether I sleep on my side or on my back. I can fold it around my shoulder or tuck it under my chin or against my cheek. The center of it, where my head rests, feels firmer than the sides. Until my neck pain started, I preferred a relatively flat, firm pillow. I hated too much loft, whether by stacking pillows or sleeping on a super-stuffed one. When my pain entered its second week, I started experimenting. Memory foam and cervical neck pillows kept my head from moving, which turned excruciating two hours in. Alternative down pillows from other known mattress companies, even those pillows labeled "soft," pushed my head too far forward due to their thickness, also making the pain worse. Even though I'm allergic to feathers, I almost tried down pillows, but fortunately I found this Caspar first. It has a lot of loft, but the weight of my head sinks better into it than with other pillows. It doesn't keep my head from moving, either. It just feels fluffy and soft and gentle. I went back and forth between getting the Essential Pillow or the Original Pillow. Since they sounded similar, I finally settled on the Essential because of the price at the time. After all, I had already spent a lot on trial pillows. It must be dry-cleaned, however, while the Original does not. The pillow comes tightly rolled inside a compact box. Immediately, when removed, it fluffs up to the size and shape it should. (The company says to wait 48 hours before full loft -- I didn't find a lot of difference after the first couple of hours.) It is not a memory foam pillow; it does not have that squishy feel. Instead, it feels as close to down, with a supportive middle, as alternative down can get. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann Read more

These are great pillows for everyone but stomach sleepers. The description however, states these are suitable for stomach, side, and back sleepers. The pain in my back and neck after sleeping with them for over a week tell me otherwise. Again, the pillows are great. They are very well put together, and the materials seem to be top-notch. They are just way too thick and firm to be used comfortably by someone who sleeps on their stomach. The 2-star deduction is for what I believe is a misleading description, so view this review with that in mind. Read more
