Good Deterrent Spray
I’ve tried sprays before that either smelled awful, didn’t work, or both. But after my cat decided the corner of my brand-new sofa was her personal scratching post, I figured I had nothing to lose. The smell is fresh but not overpowering. You definitely notice the peppermint/lemongrass scent when you spray it, but it’s not chemical or harsh. It fades to something light and clean for us humans — but apparently not for my cat. She walked up to the usual scratching spot, sniffed it, made a face, and walked away. That alone felt like a victory. It’s more like setting a boundary. After spraying consistently for about a week (once in the morning and once at night), she pretty much stopped going after that area altogether. I paired it with redirecting her to her scratching post, and that combo seems to have done the trick. I also tested it on a couple of curtain corners she liked to chew on, and same result — quick sniff, immediate disinterest. Another big plus for me is that it’s made with essential oils and doesn’t leave stains or sticky residue. I’ve used it on fabric, wood trim, and even near my patio door without any issues. If you’re willing to use it consistently and reinforce better habits, this spray genuinely helps. My furniture looks better, my cat isn’t stressed, and I’m not constantly playing “security guard” in my own living room. For a simple bottle of spray, it’s made a noticeable difference in our house. I’d buy it again. Read more
