i am so glad i stumbled upon this litter. i absolutely hate clay litter and i was really hoping i could transition my cat to something else, but she wasn’t going for it. this litter is what i would call a “compromise” between us lol. the #1 thing i can’t stand about clay litter is THE DUST. it’s the worst thing in the world. so please trust me when i say this litter has literally no dust. none at all. i’ve gone through many jugs of it and not once have i experienced dust. truly a miracle. i would describe it as very fine grained gravel. the pieces don’t break down and it’s pleasant to touch. another thing i don’t like about clay litter is the smell. most of it has some kind of extremely strong perfumery scent that makes me want to vomit, especially when mixed with cat pee/poo smell. this litter has zero scent and it’s amazing. my cat is happy. i’m happy. i use a cat odor remover spray every few days to keep things fresh, and if i keep up with it there’s no smell at all. the other thing i hate about clay litter is the tracking. i have a lot of rugs and do not want to be vacuuming litter out of them all the time. i got a random clay litter from the store when i was in a pinch and it got EVERYWHERE. this stuff really doesn’t do that. i wouldn’t call it absolutely zero tracking, but i don’t feel like i have to vacuum much more frequently than i did before i brought my cat here. i do have to vacuum around the litter box every day or two but that’s just because my cat likes to make a mess. if they keep selling this i will never buy another litter again. i have a subscription to it. my mom also doesn’t like clay litter for the same reasons I don’t, so i recommended this to her and now she won’t use anything else either. finally, it’s affordable! some of the fancier cat litters cost just way too much for me but this one is definitely reasonable. i will say the jug doesn’t last me as long as it claims but i wasn’t expecting it to. in summary, if they ever stop making this stuff i will cry. my cat likes it and i like it and it’s affordable. i couldn’t ask for more! I have always had a number of requirements for my perfect cat litter: 1) lightweight, because I am getting older, and 40 lb cartons are getting difficult. But other lightweights don't give enough litter and are more expensive. 2) odor control, because when you have multiple cats.... well, you need odor control. I clean out the litter every day or two, but I am paranoid about not letting the house smell like cat litter. 3) Clumping. Because I clean so often, I really want the litter to clump well, so I am not taking extra time to get every little broken-off piece. Been there, and done that, and won't go through that again. 4) low tracking out of the box. The bane of my existence. If you have indoor cats, I do not have to explain that to you. Well, up until last month, I was not happy. I had been trying different litters, but not one checked all my boxes. Then in desperation, I went on here, and started out by checking out reviews. One brand stood out with pleased customers. So I tried a jug. Three days after it arrived, I bought the rest I needed. Wow. I cannot TELL you all how pleased I am. No more dreading change-outs. No more breaking my back. No more seeing litter everywhere. No odor, no hassle; and all at a price I simply cannot believe. I am paying less, and getting so much more. ●I really liked using crystal litter but I have to use clumping with a litter robot. Tidy paws crystal litter was amazing but their clumping litter was awful. Too dusty and didnt cover smell at all. ●This is the next litter I tried. It tracks an average amount, not awful but not amazing. ●The dust level is very low. Almost no dust when pouring or when the litter robot turns. Very impressive. ●It does a decent job covering smell but it doesnt work very quickly. My litter box is in the basement. With my last litter i could smell my cat take a dump from upstairs. With this, it is very noticable right away but only if im downstairs. It takes at least 10-15 minutes to start covering the smell, even with a robot that cleans the box right away. That being said, after 10 minutes there is no lingering smell. ●It could be more absorbant. When my cat pees, a lot of the time the clump will stick to the inside of the litter box. The robot turns all the way upside down and the litter is still stuck to it. Kind of annoying but not the worst. ●The price is pretty good. I was able to fill my small litter box with about half of a container of this, which leaves me with a lot of product to use to fill it as it gets low. ●I really appreciate the plastic container. Its super easy to open and pour, and then i get to recycle it. Its a really nice container, I wish more brands would use plastic. Read more
