I couldn’t be happier with this heavy duty plastic chair mat for carpet. The material is thick, sturdy, and doesn’t bend or crack under pressure. My office chair now glides effortlessly, even over medium-pile carpet. The grip on the underside keeps the mat securely in place, so there’s no annoying shifting or sliding around. The surface is smooth without being slippery, striking the perfect balance for stability and mobility. I laid it out for a couple hours and it flattened out nicely without curling at the edges. Overall, this chair mat delivers outstanding durability and performance, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to protect their carpet and improve their workspace setup. Read more
Much better, sturdier, than the generic clear mats. Not as great as the ten times more expensive glass mats, but for the price this is top tier. Bought two. Read more
I'm writing this review as I'm looking to replace this mat. It lasted 2 years in total. It's installed in my home office that I use pretty much every day at least for a few minutes. (Not work from home - not all day). I remember it being tricky to lay flat but it eventually was fine. After about 1.5 years, the edges started to occasionally catch the chair as it went from the carpet to the mat. This is a pretty good mat all in all, and I would recommend. Comparably, it seems to be reasonably priced. As for the current state, It's currently cracking along the pin lines and some bits are cracking off. This only started about a month or two ago. It works fine. My wife has one we bought at the same time and hers does not have these cracks. I believe it's because I'm heavier, because she's definitely on it more than I am. Read more
My apartment has wood floors, so I wanted to get a mat for my chair that would not only protect my floor but also lessen the noise for my downstairs neighbor. This thing is great! It cut the rolling noise to almost zero because it is a carpet quality. It comes with a "sticky" side - which isn't really sticky at all - that keeps it from bunching up when you roll across it. The only downside is that hair (human and dog) sticks to it a little, but that's basically any carpet-like material, so I'm not upset about it. You just have to vacuum it. UPDATE: it's now been over a year since I bought this mat and it is going STRONG. In fact, I came here to write a glowing review, having forgotten that I'd already done so! After a year of working from home 5 days a week and rolling my office chair around, it still looks and works as if new. I also adopted a cat a couple months ago and she loves it! She can scratch at it and it shows little sign of wear. She loves to sprint across the room and skid to a stop on it and it's held up well so far. It's still flat on the edges and sticking to the floor as it should. I've also moved it a few times and it's still working great. Overall: buy this if you need a mat for your floor! In terms of usefulness, practicality, and cost, it might be the best thing I've ever purchased off Amazon. They didn't even pay me to say that! Read more
The adhesive is surprisingly strong - when I went to remove this one to replace it with a larger mat, it tore a panel of my laminate floor right up with it. No, I didn't Hulk yank it; I was pulling steadily and slowly. Moral of the story: hardwood and linoleum is probably fine but don't put this thing on laminate flooring unless you intend never to move/remove it. Despite the fact that you need a jackhammer to remove this thing, the edges will quickly rumple and curl on you if you find yourself rolling your chair off and back onto it. I replaced this with a larger mat because I underestimated how much distance I crossed moving forward toward my desk or backward away from it when I stood up. The 55" edge was perfect for the width of it, plenty of room for side to side movement, but 35" was just too short to have enough of it up under the desk to compensate for scooting up to the desk without rolling off the mat, or to have enough behind me to keep from scooting off the mat when I went to get up. You DO NOT want to be rolling on and off this mat - it gets very frustrating very fast having it rumple up in the wheels/legs of your chair. I went ahead and upgraded to a 55"x51" and I am very happy. Now to fix my floor =( Read more
For starters, it arrived utterly filthy and covered in dog or cat hair as if this was returned and resold or just chilled unboxed on a warehouse floor for weeks. It's rolled up tight and doesn't unroll - a single person can't do it. You need to have at least 3 people - 2 to unroll a side and hold and 1 to weigh the corners. It must have sat in a box under extreme heat because it's basically solidified in rolled form. I've weighed it down for 24 hours and STILL it won't stay flat. The cheap material is extremely riddled with static so it's difficult to even clean. The spikes are obscenely sharp (the bloody holes in my fingers unrolling this can attest) to the point I have concern it will rip up my carpet. The pictures of the product all appear to be photoshops or computer generated images. The actual product is not nearly as neutral and sleek as the images suggest. It's an extremely glossy and cheap looking plastic. It's yet to flatten and I am already shopping for something else. I am just now seeing tons of recent reviews with the same issues. No idea why such con of a product is allowed to be sold. DO. NOT. BUY. Read more
