Our large breed dog was starting to get painful calluses on his elbows from lying on hard floors. This elbow guard is the ONLY thing that's worked. The padding is thick and protective, and his calluses are finally starting to soften up. It's simple, effective, and does exactly what it promises. So glad we found it! Read more

Bought XL size for 9 year old 90lb lean German shepherd with early osteoporosis/osteoarthritis in front elbows. Fit was correct size. Good materials and strap. I suggest cut the elastic band in front bc it restricted movement and was dangerous on stairs and hard on inclines and laying down comfortably. Make sure to check tightness of Velcro straps. Loose enough for comfort right enough for support. Good product. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Absolutely outstanding. My puppy loves his “outfit”. The only concern I have, is the thinness of the material between the legs. It doesn’t seem to be up to the standard used throughout the rest of the brace. Other than that, it’s really well designed and effective for its use. Read more

I have an older Great Dane and I have started to notice some hot spots and arthritis pain. I realized it was time to find a product to offer him a little more support. I often get worried when purchasing things that say made for big dogs because they often do not fit. But, this product fit true to size. For a size reference my Great Dane is 7 years old and 217 pounds. This product is made with a very thick and durable material that feels similar to a neoprene type of fabric. The material is very soft and I love that it is very stretchy. Because my dog is very large the stretchiness of the fabric fit around him perfectly and I was able to adjust to make it larger or fit tighter. The fabric is soft enough that when my dog goes to lick the product it doesn't scratch his tongue but deters him from continuing to lick because he can't reach the hot spots. This product was easy to use and I needed no instructions on how to strap him in it. I have just started using this but, I can already see a difference in helping him with his arthritis pain. This product has benefited my dog greatly and is definitely worth its value. My dog did take sometime to get used to this but the more I put him in it the better he does each time. I would highly recommend for anyone who has a large older dog. Read more

Torn after less than a week. This is our second one of this brand and the last one we had for a year. Not sure if the quality is just not as good as before. Expensive so I am frustrated. Maybe this one was defective. Read more

I have a large /giant breed dog who has intermittent limping on her back legs. We've had her checked out and don't have a cause other than maybe "growing pains" because she got so big so fast. The description for this item says this will help with rear leg weakness, I assume by strengthening / supporting the front legs. I didn't find it did much to help with the rear leg issues, but I did notice my dog seemed to walk/run more confidently at the park with the brace on. It's well constructed and seems like it will last. The fitting sizes in the description were accurate and my dog didn't seem to mind wearing it. We followed instructions and did short sessions so she could get used to it before we took her out to the park with it on, so that probably helped. Seems like a good quality product that would be great for supporting weak or injured front legs, but I have doubts about what it can really do for back legs. Read more

Ordered this elbow brace for a puppy that was born with splayed shoulders to provide support for her joints alongside daily physical therapy as recommended by our vet. Since we started using the brace, we’ve noticed an improvement in her walking as it appears to provide her with just the right level of comfort and stability when moving around. She’s even started running now which is a great thing to see! It’s certainly working well to provide her the support she needs. The brace is easy to get on her and the size small fits great for now, but since she is a large breed puppy, I’m pretty sure I’ll need to order a medium in a few months. Being a puppy, she has chewed on it several times when bored but amazingly, it’s holding up great despite her best efforts. If your vet recommends a soft brace, this is a great option. Read more

tl;dr - You can buy this for your giant breeds with confidence. It's usually challenging to find braces, coats, and other dog wearables in Great Dane size. This brace fits as the sizing chart describes (true to size). I discussed brace usage with my vet, and she suggested that I stop using it at this time, but she would advise me to resume brace usage, and from the initial usage, it's great to know that when my pup requires it again (with vet approval), I'll have this brace ready. I recommend this for any dog owner with older giant breed dogs, but as my vet suggested I not have my pup in this as it could be counter productive to her healing at this time (we're using medicine for pain and mobility mitigation at this time), I strongly suggest that you work with your vet. My experience aside, a brace like this is perfect for emergencies--having a dog doughnuts, e-collars, full body onesies, various brace parts, paw shoes, quick stop, and a pet-specific first aid kit is critical for off leash wood dogs. Life in the woods is soooo much different than raising apartment dogs; as random injuries abound and getting to emergency takes longer. I have adorable dogs, but cropping this photo to focus on the fit. This brace fits my 110lb pound pup and my 140lb pup with no issue. Read more
