Mine was sold by Cute Gift Store, fulfilled by Amazon, in a printed product box (see customer images to the right of the reviews). I paid 10.95. First, let me say what this is NOT. It is not for accurately measuring small amounts like cuts of wood or where a hard edge accurate measure is required. Buy the shorter steel measures with hook edge (described as zero hook edge sometimes), curved, long standout ability (10-11 feet) and stud markings for that. Some even have 16ths inch increments, though if you ask some pros, they will say that's not necessary; just measure between increments. This IS a 100Ft/30M tape measure made in China (says so on the box). The case is made of ABS plastic. The reel has a metal winder attached to molded plastic reel (this is fine; see next paragraph). It includes a removable strap for attaching to belt or holding the case as you pull out the tape. The case diameter is 6 inches. The tape width is one half inch. The tape is made of fiber glass that is flimsy (think seamstress tape measure used to measure inseam/waist). If you want to see customer images to the right of the reviews and skip down to the next paragraph, or read all this tedious nonsense. The surface is white with imperial(feet) increments of one-eighth inch in red with each foot in black on one side and metric(meters) increments of one-fifth centimeter in black with each meter in red on the other side. They display numbers as follows: in imperial 1-11 1F, 1-11 2F, etc., and in metric 1-9 10 (as in centimeters), 1-9 20, and so on until 1-9 90, 1-9 1m, etc. Mine was a total of 100 feet, 7 inches. The metric side ended it's print at 30 meters, 11 centimeters, with some blank tape left (a little over a foot). Releasing (pulling out) and retrieving the reel was smooth and easy. Loosely reeled in, I saw a gap inside the case that would have allowed for plenty more tape, so it's not likely this tape will stick like many of the cheap steel ones I've used over the years. So I don't see it stretching out easily. That's why I'm fine with the plastic reel. I’m replacing a steel tape that had a plastic reel and the winder broke off the plastic reel while trying to reel in. For light use, this is perfect. It's more for measuring field distance, patio foundation, etc. for the individual do-it-yourselfer on a budget, especially if you don't want the open-reel measures. Flimsy steel tapes are more durable, less likely to stretch over time, but also more likely to rust, stick in the case, cut your fingers, slap your face as you reel it in, make that awful whipping noise (oh, that horrible whipping noise -- and, the slapping thing is bad, too). Good quality cloth tape, accurate within an inch when fully extended. The strap on back is flimsy-- detaches too easily when rewinding. However, the reel is smooth and makes rewinding simple, efficient. The case that houses the tape is well constructed. Good Value for the money, especially for occasional use. The "snap button" that releases the tape is a bit flimsy; it seems to have lost the firmness that secures it after only 3-4 times I used it. Overall a good value though. Read more
