This is a very handy kitchen gadget. It is much less "messy" that using traditional box or flat graters. And as a bonus, it provides handy storage of grated cheese. The graters and lid could nest better for easier storage. I like this grater so much, I have purchased several for my friends that are skilled home chefs. Read more
I originally intended to buy this for powdering wax for firestarters. It’s a little bigger than it looks, the ad says it’s approximately 3 x 5“, it’s actually 5 x 7“. It will certainly work for what I’m doing, this actually does a slightly better job at grating food than our old grader since it also contains the shavings. So, nothing goes to waste, nothing’s lost and cleanup is faster and easier. As part of a field kit, it can hold a lot of extra stuff inside of the built-in container. It also comes with a small brush for cleaning out the shaving cutters. Highly recommended. Read more
Just so you know how awesome this three in one grater is I must tell you. I use this not only for cheese and lemons but also for grating butter for homemade biscuits. Of course you have to place butter in the freezer for about ten minutes then proceed to grated. The awesome part of this grater is it has a container with a sealed top. You can grated stuff a head of time and it’s easy to grate for quick use (no more deciding what to grate into. If purchased these little gems three times now for gifts and for me. Please note the lid fits inside the container not on top like you may think. I read some of the other reviews and people were saying that the lid doesn’t fit correctly. Well if it doesn’t fit correctly, turn it upside down and you’ll see that is the correct way. Don’t listen to others. This is the best product. Read more
I actually don't use this for grating cheese or any type of food product. I make shampoo and conditioner bars for my shop and I needed something to shave off the extra on the tops, sometime they can look a little rough. This baby is perfect, and I love that it catches the shavings in the bottom, so they can be recycled! Great quality, well-made, easy to use and easy to clean. no problems with rust so far and I was worried that might be an issue. If you're on the fence, I highly recommend this product. No indication to the type of plastic used as there isn't even a company logo on it. The stainless is paper thin and doesn't look anything like the grater I have from the '60's that is still rocking. It might not be safe to store food in. Who knows. It's not marked, looks super cheap. It's too bad, because it has some great concepts. The way the lid fits, the anti slide foot, the way the grates attach. It's probably a copy of a really nice unit. I'm keeping until I find that unit. Read more
