It is a little cumbersome for grating cheese and slippery when trying to hold onions (in fairness it's probably my fault for not making sure the onions are secure in the grippers), but ALL fingers are protected enough that I can glance at my laptop with confidence while slicing. Cleanup is very easy, just a little soap and water and maybe a brush to remove soft foods from the gripper holes.
