My kids have champagne taste evidently and they require only the best. Chomps appears to be the best. Unlike most jerky or beef sticks, Chomps doesn't have sugar or filler. It's all good stuff and no funky preservatives. THey do have what's called encapsulated lactic acid, which is the first time I've ever heard of it. On their site they claim: The lactic acid in our products is derived from Non-GMO cane sugar and it’s created through a fermentation process in which the cane sugar is converted to an acid. While the lactic acid originates from cane sugar, the final product contains no sugar, and thus it will not lead to a spike in blood sugar levels.The lactic acid, combined with sea salt and celery juice powder is what gives our sticks the 13-month shelf life. I think the flavor is good with a little kick, but I would prefer a little more salt. Having eaten all grass-fed beef, I'm surprised this tastes as good as it does.
