I've been incorporating more fresh ginger and turmeric root in my foods every day and pulling out the bulky box blender has been a hassle and it doesn't do nearly the job that a good microplane does so I began searching for a high quality zester that was also affordable. The AdeptChef Grater/Zester is exactly what I was looking for. I used it right away to make a new BBQ Chicken Wing (as well as Grilled Tofu) meal for my family tonight. The grater did a wonderful job grating the ginger very fine and the orange zest was so quick and easy. I was impressed by how sturdy the plane felt and the handle had a very good grip. Clean up was equally as impressive. The ginger came right out of the blades with a quick rinse under the sink. My box grater is much harder to get at all the residual fibers. I love that the Grater/Zester comes with a safety sheath that makes it safe to store in my (cluttered) kitchen drawers. But since it has a loop in the handle, I'm keeping it on the wall with my stainless steel spoons and spatulas. I can't wait to by some aged parmesan cheese and bring this right to the table, I'm confident it will make light and delicate tiny cheese curls. I should have bought one of these years ago! Read more
It took me a little while to decide to buy a zester. I didn't need one that often. After deciding to buy one I searched Amazon for a quality one at a good price. This is the one I decided on. I was amazed at the quality; much better than I thought it'd be. I was even more amazed with the ease of using it! It is so sharp and does a wonderful job! It's fairly easy to clean if you spray it off right away and the cover to store it with is very well fit. I was very surprised at the level of customer service of this company. Before I'd even used my zester I received an email from them asking that if I had ANY problem to contact them and they'd make it right, and that they'd be I touch in a few days to see how I liked it. Very impressed! This zester is the best. Delivery was very prompt as expected. I've been on this lemon water kick lately, but then I read how the zest has great benefits too. I've begun using this nifty zester to add organic lemon zest to my water, which gives the extra benefit of reducing inflammation and cleansing the body of impurities we add into our diet when we eat outside organic. The blade is very sharp, it works excellent! Watch out for your fingers, do not slip! The plastic blade cover is awesome. Keeps it from dulling if it contacts other objects in the drawer. This grater works very well. It is sharp, and easy to use. I have some issues with the plastic guard...it seems difficult to pop on and off the blade. Plus, the underside of the blade has rather sharp edges, and if you run your finger inside the blade to clear the cheese (etc.), you could cut yourself if not careful. Otherwise, good product. This is simply the best zester I've every owned. It takes very little pressure and cuts tiny curls of zest in both directions. It is extremely sharp so keep the included cover on until you're ready to use it. Keep your hands/fingers away from the edges while in use. It takes extremely thin slices so you don't have to worry about cutting into the bitter white part of the peel. Perfect for zesting any type of citrus fruit. The rasps go all the way to the edges. I use the edges to zest the inside curves near the ends of the lemon to get every bit of zest I can. This tool is worth every penny I paid for it. Read more

I ordered this because I use a lot of ginger and citrus zest, and the graters I owned gave me limited choices - too large, much too large and mush, basically - none of which were entirely satisfactory. So I bought this and tried it for the first time today, and I'm very pleased. Simple in design, very effective (a very generous heaping tablespoon of finely shredded ginger in about 5 passes), very sharp (watch those knuckles!), easy to use and simple to clean, plus it has a snap-on safety cover that fits very snugly and securely which makes storage in a drawer possible and practical without risking the loss of skin. I think a small kitchen brush or hand/nail brush might prove helpful to really clean the tiny teeth if it gets gummed up, but for now the scrubby back of a kitchen sponge works fine for me, and might work long-term. I bought this grater with the intentions of using it to zest lemons and oranges but it doesn’t! I almost took skin off my knuckles trying to zest a lemon the other day. It does a wonderful job straightening the sides of cookies for a smoother look, so that’s a plus! It’s easy to clean as well as easy to hold, but if your looking to zest citrus fruits, I’d look for something else. Read more
