Went on nicely, heated through easily, survived a water test. Will layer it a bit more but absolutely great product. Some said it was "too" soft. Yes, it is softer than what I have used for saddles and other leather goods. This was used on a canvas WW2 type bag and worked great. The ONLY complaint is that the bar is small; buy two if the project is larger then an over-the-shoulder med bag. The tin makes storage easy and the wrap keeps your hands from melting it. Two huge pluses. Read more

I bought this to add a light coat of extra wax to a lightly waxed cotton canvas jacket while maintaining the original look of the jacket. It was soft enough that a little bit rubbed onto the jacket but not so soft that an excessive amount rubbed on. It took less than a 1/4 bar and maybe 20 minutes to rub the entire jacket then I turned it inside out and threw it in the dryer on high for 15 minutes. It came out pretty much perfectly. You can feel the extra stiffness it added to the canvas but it looks only a teeny bit darker. Also, it doesnβt have any odor. Very happy with the result. Read more

I reviewed and priced the limited competition, and selected Cobler's Choice. I suspect canvas wax is something of a commodity with little meaningful difference between the handful of available products. Cobler's Choice offers the best value by a significant margin. I applied it to two canvas hats which had lost their water repellency. One was a Filson canvas hat and the other a baseball style cap from Duluth Pack. The application was an easy and left the headgear with a beautiful wax sheen that will undoubtedly repel water. It really seemed to soak into the fabric and makes both look like brand new! I have plenty of wax left for touch-ups, if needed, or for other applications. Cobler's Choice is an excellent product at a fair price. Read more

This is a pretty good canvas wax and would be a great value if the actual bar was indeed 6oz. The bar weighed in right around 5oz so it was missing 1oz and this is pretty disappointing to see that such a quality product falsely advertised the actual product weight. I used it on my wax jacket that is in need of re-waxing and it was pretty easy to apply. I just did a section at a time by using vertical application and then using a heat gun (not sure a hair dryer works as well because it doesn't get quite as hot as a heat gun) to melt the applied wax in order for it to soak into the jacket canvas and smooths out the wax nicely giving it a even wax coat. Again a great product plagued by false weight advertisement which dinged its otherwise good reputation. Read more

I have a waxed cotton motorcycle jacket that is about 8 years old and has never been rewaxed. This wax applied easily, though I probably used about 75% of the bar, and I finished it up by going over it with a heat gun. It wasn't a shocking revitalization of the appearance of the jacket, but touching it you can tell that it is waxed (and waterproof again), and it smells nice now too. Read more

The media could not be loaded. Worked it into a canvas jacket. Worked well, better than spray, does add some weight to the fabric but more importantly it waterproofed the jacket and the jacket is now warmer. Read more

I like wax canvas. This product allows you pretty easily to wax a piece of canvas and get a fairly professional looking result without having to spend a great deal of time on the project. Read more
