As others stated, battery is dead on arrival. Unable to hold charge. I followed instructions to plug into laptop - waited until solid green bar for battery showed on the device over multiple seconds. I unplugged the mp3 player, and it immediately said "low battery" and shut off. Pressing the power button did not turn it on. Only plugging it into the laptop brings it to life. The product paperwork says the year 2012.. so, the battery likely lost its ability to hold charge somewhere between 0 and 13 years ago. Read more

I ordered one AND a replacement and both MP3 players would NOT take a charge. I left them plugged in overnight and when I disconnected them from my PC, they both went dead and would not turn on after. I think they've been sitting on the inventory shelf so long, that the batteries have expired from not being recharged. I would NOT buy these a THIRD time, nor should you buy them once. Read more

This product is 8 years old. Second time I purchased it, the first time it didn't charge, so I returned it for another one. The second one didn't charge up either. So I looked at the packaging - copywrite 2012 - 8 YEARS OLD. No wonder the battery didn't charge, it's dead as a doornail.
