The media could not be loaded. This product works amazing and has some really neat features! I bought this for my grandfather and he loves it! the most important thing is the audio quality is great, the audio is crisp with no static, instantaneous and LOUD. I moved this all over my room to test it out and there was absolutely zero drop off. The build quality is very solid the fabric front gives it a nice premium feel that doesnt look plasticky or cheap, and the LED indicators are bright and super intuitive. performance is premium. The volume knob has a very nice smooth motion that is easy to manipulate AND there is a built in one touch mute button in case someone starts talking to you or you need to hear something (my grandfather LOVES this feature). Super easy to use for him. The speaker charges on the dock so realistically you dont have to worry about battery life at all since when you're done watching tv you put the speaker back on its dock and it charges automatically, although if you want to hide the dock away out of sight you can just charge the speaker with a standard cable (this is how I set it up) Another super neat feature is the ability to attach headphones to the speaker itself which transforms any old headphones you have lying around into wireless TV headphones that wont disturb anyone even if someone is in the same bed as you. My grandmother is over the moon about this 😄 The tv is ceiling mounted so I was worried how I would set up the dock but I ran the optical cable through the celling into my attic where the tv is powered from the transmission is flawless even through the ceiling of the bedroom to the attic. beware this speaker doesn't work unless you set your tv mode to PCM. when I fruit turned it on it made this weird static noise but I checked the manual and it told me to switch the audio output of the tv to PCM then it worked flawlessly. I bought this for my 85 yr old father-in-law who's hard of hearing and not tech savvy. I connected the base to the TV fine and it was automatically paired with the speaker. However, the sound was horrible, like it was under water. I then tried connecting it to my TV directly using blue tooth, I was able to pair it with the TV and the sound was very good. The problem is when the TV is shut off it defaults to it's own speakers, so you have to manually select the Coby device each time, there's no way he's doing that. I own lots of expensive audio components, so I was keeping my expectations low for something inexpensive like this Coby bluetooth speaker. But... it is great! Super simple controls, feels well made, easy to plug in (I used the optical audio cable, they include one but I had a better one as well). The optical goes from TV to base unit, then power the base unit with a USB cable and you are done. Clear sound for voice - news, sports is what I wanted and what I got! My use: I watch the financial news on the kitchen TV while I sit in the breakfast nook. Hooked it up to Samsung TV via optical cable. Has a background buzz behind sound, which increases along with volume. Tried it on another Samsung TV, which is the same model. Was even worse. Instructions for setup were adequate. Tried it with in line and also RCA connection options. Those didn't work at all. I haven't decided if I will keep it. It does work as an external, portable, speaker for my bookshelf audio/CD player. So it is kind of nice to take the speaker into an adjoining room to listen to the music. UPDATE TO REVIEW - I got rid of the background buzz after reading the user manual for a ZVOX speaker. Two things not mentioned in the Coby manual took care of the problem, but I don't know which of the 2 did the trick. 1). Turned the internal speakers all to zero plus muted the sound 2). Pushed the optical cable in until I heard a click. I like being able to put the speaker near me in the middle of the room, instead of worrying about the neighbor's on the other side of the wall having to listen to my TV up against that wall. I purchased this for my father who wears hearing aids and struggles hearing voices/ tv with a lot of background noises like ball games.I set it up on my own huge tv with surround sound setup to be sure I knew how to set it up and use it at his house. I used the optical cable and changed the sound setting on the tv as directed. Um..IM KEEPING IT FOR MYSELF!! You know how surround sound can sound like just the bass and boom booms? I could not hear voices well. This little magic box works WITH your surround sound bar and speakers. It’s not one or the other!! It has a mute button on top if someone starts a conversation or you need to answer a call. The volume is a knob on the end, very easy. When you mute the tv sound this stays on. I left the base behind my tv and plugged this in to my usb tower by my chair. All cords are included. I’m telling you right now add to cart and proceed to checkout!!!
