I’ve been really enjoying this scale—it’s clearly designed by and for coffee people. The “espresso” mode with auto tare has been surprisingly useful, taking one more step off my mind when there’s already so much going on in a brew. The lid doubling as a bean dosing cup is brilliant: it makes it easy to check the beans, do RDT, and even has a little corner spout to pour them neatly. The scale itself is compact (it even fits under my Flair Classic), super responsive, and solidly built with a thoughtful finish. I tested it with a calibration weight and it was right on the mark every time. For the price, it delivers pro-level features and attention to detail that make it a great all-around coffee scale. I am so impressed with these Nutti products, which are made by a subdivision of Timemore, which has become a well respected name for itself in the espresso space. I actually had just received a very nice espresso scale through Vine, but had to test this one as well. (And just so you know, these items aren't "free" as Amazon claims - we do pay a hefty income tax on these items here in the USA. So I didn't purchase this simply because it was "free" because it wasn't.) The reason being that I have an exceptional Nutti portable espresso grinder that I received via Vine earlier in the year, and I had to satisfy my curiosity with regard to the portable, matching scale. It's a very good scale. It's designed for portability, in that the cover doubles as a dosing cup for your espresso beans. It comes with an elastic strap to hold everything together, so that you can throw it in a bag for camping and hiking. Its very pretty, functions well and is clearly high quality. One negative is that it has the tendency to turn on through the cover when you put it away and strap everything together. However, for the price point, this is definitely one of the nicer espresso scales I've seen. I like that they look a little bit of a risk with the styling, and it turned out well - so many espresso scales look exactly the same, and this one is a little bit different. Small precise and very easy to use, this is a great scale for coffee beans. Very simple and easy to use. Clever design has the container for the beans and a great pad so you just hit the button while both items are on the scale to get it to Zero and then weigh out the beans. Lasts a long time on one charge, still going on one charge, actually, with daily use! So battery life is great. It is easy to use, works fast and well and is a good value for the scale.
