I've been taking this collagen daily for several months. It mixes easily in liquid and is a great addition to my health maintenance. If you are looking for a quality collagen that won't break the bank, this is it! Read more
I’m going through these every 3 weeks. Better than whey protein - faster recovery and it doesn’t upset my stomach. 1 star off is due how hard it is to mix it. Since collagen requires vitamin c to be absorbed I mix it with either orange or cranberry juice. Read more

I started mountain hiking, as a hobby, at the age of 66. But each long hike led to days of painful recovery time. The more I hiked, the longer that recovery period got. Clinical trials clearly show that this stuff reduces joint pain in college athletes. Which makes sense, since the majority of the dry weight of joint tissues (cartilage, tendon, ligament) is collagen. Presumably, this provides an abundance of the right amino acids for rebuilding collage. I gave it a try, starting off an an ounce a day -- the most common dose in the tests of collage peptides in student athletes. (I have since dialed it back to about one-third of that, which by my calculation allows you to absorb roughly as much collagen amino acids as you would get in about 5 pounds of steak. So, a third of an ounce is plenty.) The results were immediate and dramatic. Like night and day. My post-hike recovery time -- how many days until my hips and knees were no longer sore -- dropped from days, to overnight, from the very first time I tried this. I'm guessing my diet was particularly deficient in the right amino acids for collagen synthesis. As a bonus, a little over half a year later, and my thin, brittle, splitting fingernails are gone. I now have ten perfect, thick, strong fingernails, no hangnails, no splits. It has been decades since I could say that. And that, again, makes perfect sense, as the amino acids needed for keratin (what fingernails and hair are made from) are the same as those needed for collagen. Near as I can tell, this has had zero effect on my skin. Or, if there has been any, it has been too slow and too subtle for me to tell. In any case, as an aid to post-exercise joint recovery, this stuff if the bomb. Read more

I am giving this five stars based on the value for money for two five pound bags compared to buying smaller packs locally. My wife uses it and can tell no difference in taste or efficacy between this product and the far more expensive smaller drug store packets. I have been taking it for about two months to just try it out, there is a difference in less broken finger nails, my wife thinks my hair feels thicker (I am in my 70's) but I am not sure as it feels the same to me. I asked my doctor and he said there is no real scientific data supporting the efficacy of collagen supplements and all the studies he has seen have been paid for by the supplement industry, as with most studies supporting supplements. Anyway he says it will do no harm but eating a good balanced diet is just as effective in giving the body the amino acids it needs to produce collagen. I will try it for one year and see what happens. Read more
