I usually would be a medium or large, took a chance on small d/t other reviews stating they were too long or baggy. 5.5" 155 lbs. and the small fits great. Yes, they do pill. I have a clothing pill shaver to help with this. Hang to dry only, to prolong the fabric life. Otherwise I love these. Hope this helps with your purchase choice.
