I've had this jacket since Christmas 2022, and it's been really very good so far. I've had great luck with Columbia brand jackets/fleeces in the past so I figured this would be good to go. Fortunately I was right! The lining's nice, the pockets zip and have a nice soft felt-like lining so they're easy to warm cold hands, need be. The pockets are also big enough to store gloves, a wallet & phone etc with ease. There's also an inside pocket as well, if you want/need it. I wear it mostly in Central California, right on the coast. During winters here it can dip down into the 15Β° (Farenheit) range fairly often, particularly on/near the ocean. When this happens the jacket always keeps me very warm & comfortable with little more than just a thin cotton T-shirt worn underneath. I wore this jacket snowboarding up in Tahoe last year and it was perfect! It got to below zero (again, Farenheit) at one point during a storm & all I needed was this jacket. Purely for comfort I wore a longsleeve thermal underneath. I was more than comfortable with just that and could have gotten by without the thermal, tbh. It's probably worth mentioning that it uses some type of what looks to be a mylar hybrid; it seems to be using your own body heat to warm you - so for someone like me who's in ok/decent shape - I stay quite comfortable & warm. This jacket is also very easy to cool off while wearing, if necessary. Simply unzip the main zipper and BAM! You're off to the races! I guess maybe the one negative would be that it is NOT waterproof. So just make sure that despite it being made of a nylon-like material, it does not stay completely dry in heavy rain/snow. It wicks away *most* of the snow/water if you're simply caught out in a storm for a few mins, sure, but any sustained exposure to water and it will get you wet. Although to be fair, the jacket doesn't pretend to be a storm/waterproof jacket in any way. I just figured it was worth mentioning as I'm sure someone will want to know. All in all, it's a great jacket & at a very reasonable price. Nice & warm & quite lightweight with a high quality fit & finish. Definitely a good to go bit of kit! Read more

My old Patagonia coat got stolen so I was in need of new winter gear able to stand up to New England winters. I spotted this jacket on sale (an INCREDIBLE value) and was thrilled to get it in the mail just two days later. I love this coat and wear it multiple times a week during the winter. It's very warm but not overly puffy. The water resistance is great for wet, snowy weather. I've used it for a year and so far, there are no quality issues - it's durable and still just as warm as the day I got it. I've never owned a coat with the Columbia Omni-heat liner, and now I don't want to own another one without it! I ordered the Laser Lemon color, which is an absolutely insane (in the best way) yellow color. It is jarring and my friends all had something to say about it, and it just made me love this coat more. You will certainly stand out on the trails if you get the yellow one! Read more

Love this jacket. Fits a little big but I like that so it's easy to wear a sweatshirt underneath. Very warm without being bulky. Read more

It's lightweight, it's down, it's warm. What more could you ask for in a affordable jacket. Not much, other than the zipper is tricky to operate. If you're not careful while getting it zipped up, I mean right from the get-go, it won't go. It gets stuck and there's a problem with that. Anyway, it's a minor issue and you can live with being a little careful. Columbia won't give you a temperature rating on their stuff, which is very useful. I'm telling you it's good to a minimum of 20 degrees or so. It's good against a cold wind too. It can't take a lot of rain but I used some waterproofing spray to help a little. If down gets wet, you can forget about it keeping you warm. This is not a parka so don't expect anything like that. Read more

This is so nice and warm, I'm sure this will be perfect for summits. Since I currently have an ankle injury, I've been using this for cold parade watching. It's been absolutely amazing and I'm convinced it's one of my best jacket purchases. I bought the men's version as a women because when I measured my body, the men's matched more closely. I'm glad that I did since I've been building some arm muscles and that's no problem in this. Comfortable, lightweight and warm. Read more

Bought for hubby for our cruise to Alaska (end of October). He loved it. His size is 3X but we bought a 4X so he could have a looser fit for layering underneath. Didnβt really need to layer as this kept him toasty warm. If you are having to go in and out it will sweat you to death ( shopping) but itβs very packing friendly, lightweight, comfortable and warm for being outside. Read more
