These shoes are fabulous and long lasting! I used them for an outdoor show, so they got a TON of wear and while the soles are worn from the cobblestones, they're still in good enough condition to wear them out in the day to day. After dancing in them for 4 hours a day that first week, I did decide to add insoles for a little more comfort on my arch. They are pretty flat, but if I was just using them as a casual shoe, I don't think it would have bothered me. The sole has great grip, they fit true to size, and the zipper is sturdy. The only complaint I have is the laces are almost a bit waxy and don't stay tied for very long. I ended up double knotting them and that helped. These are honestly so classic and versatile and feminine without being boring. You can wear them with an A-line skirt for a more collegiate look or jeans and a simple top/sweater for a fall outing or even a knee-length utility skirt or maybe even the right peasant dress. They can work to bump up a casual fit but they're dressy enough to hold their own with a nicer ensemble. I bought the dark brown, but they are dark enough to work with a lot of looks. I just wore them with black tights and an army green mini skirt and a tunic style blouse. I usually wear an 8.5 and usually a wide shoe fits better. I ordered the 8.5 *extra* wide just to be safe. And my shoe is so roomy... it almost feels too big, but only because I'm used to shoes hugging my foot. In retrospect, I would not have bought the extra width. As a bonus, it gives me more space to add an insert since there's not a ton of cushioning (it's not bad at all, but I like a softer shoe. I really do like the shoe. I have worn them to work (at a daycare) several times and not had any pain being on and off my feet for hours. One thing you might want to know is that the cuff around the ankle is rather thick, heavy, and stiff which can be a bit irritating if you bend your ankles back a lot when you sit as it digs in... Some reviews weren't that great, so I bought thinking I may have to return them. Out the box they look okay. They appear small but they fit. They have some arch support, but not much and that was expected. The toe space is a little tight, but that's due to the shape of the toe and not some defect. The heel is a nice short height. These are for the most part really cute. I do not expect these to stand up to heavy walking, so stick to city streets, a car or the public transit. These aren't made for a hike through the woods. I do not plan to return these. But check back in a few months to see if I have more to say about them. ****Update **** Well there is a hole in my right boot where the sole isn't completely attached. I can't see it, however, it's raining right now and water is seeping in through the toe. I've only worn these boots three times. First of al the look of the shoe is very nice with the exception of a little round tab on the front of the shoe. ((It is where the beginning of the bottom of the shoe holes are) The foot of the shoe is comfortable but around the ankle its wider than a normal shoe. This type of shoe should tailor up the ankle. Lastly, for the price, they should give you a decent shoe string that stays tied. You need it to help support the ankle. The ones received were cheap and waxy. I was going to return, but will try another shoe lace and I'm out of time. Per haps I will take them to a shoe repair.....however for pleather, I think I have spent enough. Yikes! Read more
