My daughter has the Medium (be sure to measure your kid 1st) and it fits great. It's a tad big to allow for clothing to layer and for the kids to grow a bit. I don't see having to move up in size for another year. The velcro latching is very strong because its new which is great because I do not want my 5yr old taking the vest off when she shouldn't.
