Weighted vests are increasingly becoming a popular tool for those seeking to improve body awareness and regulate sensory input. Whether used in therapy, exercise, or everyday activities, they offer a unique way to support both physical and mental well-being. A weighted vest is a garment designed to carry added weight on the torso, typically through adjustable pockets that hold small, evenly distributed weights. These vests are worn over clothing and are often used in a variety of therapeutic and athletic contexts. Benefits for Regulation and Sensory Processing One of the primary benefits of wearing a weighted vest is its ability to provide deep pressure input to the body. This type of sensory input can have a calming and organizing effect on the nervous system, especially for individuals with sensory processing challenges. Deep pressure has been shown to increase the release of serotonin and dopamine, neurotransmitters that help regulate mood and anxiety. For those with ADHD, autism, or anxiety disorders, this sensory input can provide significant relief and help improve focus and emotional regulation. The weight of the vest creates a form of proprioceptive feedback—essentially a "grounding" effect—that helps individuals feel more aware of their body in space. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals who struggle with body awareness (also known as proprioception), as it encourages them to be more conscious of their posture, movement, and overall physical state. For children or adults who have difficulty with spatial awareness or coordination, wearing a weighted vest can foster a stronger connection to their body. Read more

As an Occupational Therapist, I recently purchased this weighted vest and have been very impressed with both the quality and design. The adjustable velcro straps make it quick and easy to put on and take off, while also allowing for the perfect fit, whether snug or more relaxed, and it stays secure once in place. I especially appreciate that it comes with two different weight options (.75 lbs and .50 lbs), making it easy to adjust the weight for use with multiple students. The materials are durable and well-made, so I feel confident it will hold up with regular use. Overall, this is a high-quality vest that is both practical and thoughtfully designed. Read more

This weighted compression vest is well-made and looks like it is high quality. The purple color is beautiful, and I like that both the weights and the Velcro straps are adjustable, allowing the fit and pressure to be tailored to each child’s needs. The concept is fantastic, especially for kids who benefit from deep pressure input. I was excited to try this for my neurodivergent children, but our experience has been mixed. My 8-year-old daughter, who is high-functioning autistic, found it uncomfortable because it was too heavy, "bulky" and didn’t like how it looked on her—she wanted something more discreet that wouldn’t draw questions from other kids. She only tolerated it for about 10 minutes before asking to remove it. My younger child lasted closer to 30 minutes, but eventually felt hot and uncomfortable in it. I was able to easily put these on them while both of them were able to remove the vest independently. We’re still working on figuring out their tolerance level with this vest, since their sensory needs do call for deep pressure input. They tolerate other compression items well, but not this particular type of compression vest (at least for now). I still see potential in this product, especially for families who need adjustable options for sensory support, but it may take trial and error to see if it’s the right fit for each child. Read more

The vest is true to size. The straps adjust well and seem pretty comfortable on my kids. The different weights included are also easy to move and place into individual pockets. The only issue I've had with the quality is that I am a bit disappointed that one of the weight pockets looks like it wasn't completed. Its missing the entire Velcro closure that helps keep weights in place. The rest of the pockets have Velcro on both sides *see photo*. This may just be a fluke/manufacturing mistake, but for the price I’d expect better quality control. Otherwise, it seems to be a nice reasonably priced and - for the most part – a well-made weighted vest. Read more

I got this for my 6 year old autistic daughter who I've noticed likes to be compressed or in weighted blankets sometimes to calm down. This vest is great for that. I love how adjustable it is so you can get the perfect fit. I also appreciate how the weights are customizable. They have little weights in two sizes I believe that you can put in various holes to help customize how much it weighs and exactly where the weight is. I would recommend this product. Read more

This weighted vest was an effective soother for our middle-grade ASD student. The adjustable weights allowed us to get it "just right" for the student's needs. It seems well-made and durable. It was large enough to fit a 9-year-old. Read more

I was so happy that this vest came in time for Monday morning! Working in a special needs classroom, there are times when kiddos need the sensory input/output. I was pleasantly surprised when I got this vest; it has a nice weight. Its fit is very nice, and it is adjustable. It is one of the best-made weighted vests I have seen. I love that the student could help put it on and off with minimal help from us. I think this vest is worth more than the price listed. Read more
