These shorts are excellent quality; however, they run big. I wear small, and the elastic waistband didn’t do anything to keep it on. Luckily, there is a drawstring, but if it weren’t for that, they would fall off. I don’t consider myself to be a small person (165 lbs); however, I am fit and have a 30-inch waist. There isn’t an XS, so I’d go with the assertion that these run big. Aside from the sizing, the Coofandy casual 9-inch chino shorts are well-made, and are the length that I like. Most chino shorts are 7 inches and go way up on the thigh. These are more of a cross between a chino and a cargo. They have the more formal style, but the looser fit like a cargo short. As mentioned, they run big, but I believe that’s to accommodate the more relaxed fit. I would have preferred belt loops over the drawstring, though, because drawstrings tend to pull out in the dryer or by accident, so you're out of luck. The loose fit in the thighs and hips is nice. I have muscular legs, and I often find chinos tight. These shorts are mostly cotton, so they don’t feel synthetic at all. This is a bit of a rarity in clothing these days. There are two standard pockets that are plenty deep and a single back pocket, big enough for a wallet. These are rugged enough to be worn hiking or in active wear; however, they are better as semi-formal since they are cotton. I’m not a fan of cotton workout or hiking gear since they don’t wick sweat. However, I am a fan of them for everyday wear and comfort. Overall, these are great shorts, but I’m debated on the fit. They are about the same price (maybe a little less) as something I’d find in a department store, so I’m not sure there's much value, since you can’t really try them on beforehand. Read more
