Do NOT put it on the side like the instructions suggest. The Xbox can and will overheat like normal. This is because there is a metal case under the plastic making it much harder for the air to reach the motherboard. As well as the air that is already being pushed out the opposite way by the Xbox. What you want to do is lay your Xbox flat, put the fan where it is PULLING the air OUT of the Xbox, put it on the tope where you can see the circle cut out. This is the main event for your Xbox. The fan will pull the air out much faster than what the Xbox pusses out by itself, allowing the motherboard to not over heat. Works great. I use it on high for gaming and low when watching something. Installing the fan to the side of the console was easy and is held in with pegs. With the feet, I was able to stand my console vertically. With the fans on situated on the bottom of the console (power button up top), there wasn't any clearance for a lot of air flow for intake. Using a small plastic tub, I have the xbox standing on top of that, with the feet standing on the walls of the container. This also allowed me to slide my external 1TB hard drive in there to keep the appearance neat. I do not have the usb power cord plugged into the console itself, but rather an external usb power supply. Using a 3rd party fan accessory on a previous console bricked it, so I'm just being cautious with this. The size was exact for the Xbox series S console. The build quality was fair, not great but not too bad. Has extra UsB ports for use with console. Fair value for the money, not great but fair. The design and functionality are not what I expected, it did not perform as well as anticipated, as it is designed for bottom use. That being said placing it on top of the console, seemed to draw heat away much better than using it on the bottom. Read more

Let me tell you, after having this fan for approximately one week I can confidently say that this is the best fan on the market. The majority of the heat on the Xbox series s comes from the top of the Xbox and so far this is the only fan I’ve seen that can be placed on the top of the console. I’ve seen lots of people place it on the bottom but do yourself a favor and place it on top. I recommend you test it on both the top and bottom for a few hrs of play each and you will notice that the difference is quite significant. Top fan is the way to go and use the stand included to lift the bottom fan off the surface it stands on to allow for bottom fan to work properly as well.
