I'm rating this 5 stars strictly based on the function and the fact that I'm impressed with the performance of this little thing! However, I will say, it's a smidge misleading with the 3-in-1 claim, as I personally only found this to be a good curling iron. Straightening and large waves....eh, not so much. I tried it with the plastic attachment for waves- couldn't get a good grip in my hair and where the clamp was underneath, it left a line. Straightening with it doesn't work at all- in my opinion. Perhaps to some that's worth knocking off a star but again, I was hoping to get something that left a good curl in my hair and I definitely got that- so I'm quite pleased and thus, my rating. Here's the rest of my honest review... Going into this I had what I would call reasonable expectations on a miniaturized, battery powered version of an everyday tool. I have other travel-sized straighteners and curling irons and I had yet to find a good curler, as they were one-level heat setting options that barely put out enough heat to keep a single curl in. Well this is definitely on the small side (about the size of a hairbrush) and totally transportable but it doesn't at all compromise on the heat! It has 4 heat settings, I used 3rd hottest for my trial. It heated up fully within 2 minutes- it does stop blinking to let you know it's ready. The controls are super intuitive (I didn't need the directions) and it's easy enough to get to your desired setting. I will say, an auto-off feature would have been a nice touch but still good without it. A few things I'd share which aren't negatives against the product, they're what I'd call "adjustments" for the users. The barrel on this is short (as intended so it takes up less space). So if you have long hair like me, you do need to get a little creative on getting a curl in the full length of your hair. Otherwise you'll be left with curls just at the bottom of your hair. I ended up doing the ends and then going back through and trying to seamlessly add a bit more on top of those curls (if that makes sense). And because the barrel is shorter, the clip doesn't accommodate a huge amount of hair. If you try too much, the clip won't clamp down all the way and your hair will end up falling through. So take your time and do one inch pieces. It also took a little for me to get used to the overall size- I did burn the tip of my finger slightly because I'm just used to their being more room. So again, take your time and you'll be happy with this! What I can't yet comment on is the battery life. It came with a charge and I was able to get through my hair without it dying. I will say there is no way to tell if the battery is low. Apparently it will just beep/ flash and turn off when dead. So I'd say charge ahead of time to be safe! All in all, I feel completely confident with just taking this with me and leaving my big curler behind. I'm sitting here now hours after I tried this and the curls are still there. This travel curling iron is awesome! It's small, about the size of my hairbrush, so it takes up less room when packing it for travel. It's cordless, which is nice because you can curl your hair anywhere, even if there's no power outlet nearby. This curling iron is very easy to use. There is a little "on" switch on the bottom of the curling iron, along with the charging port. Make sure this switch is "on" and then long-press the power button. The default heat setting is 160°C/320°F. You can short-press the power button to cycle through the heat settings. Once you have it set to your desired heat, it will heat up in 90 seconds. The light will blink while heating and stay lit when it reaches the desired temperature. Long-press the power button to turn it off. It comes with a comb attachment for bigger curls, but I haven't used it since I prefer smaller curls. This curling iron can be used as a straightener, but since I have straight hair, I don't know how well it works for that. I've used it as a curling iron for the smaller curls, and it works great! I have long hair and like to curl the ends. I was able to heat the curling iron and curl all of my hair in under 10 minutes! The slight issue I see with this curling iron is that it's small, which it's meant to be. But that means that the spot at the top of the curling iron that you hold is smaller too. I've felt a little heat on my fingertips a few times. Not enough to burn me, but just enough to warn me to slow down and make sure I'm holding it in the correct spot. This curling iron came fully charged. You can check to see how charged it is by quickly pressing the power button when it's off. (Don't long-press it - that will turn it on. Just short-press it.) If all four lights light up, then it is fully charged. Three lights = 75% battery, etc. This curling iron is supposed to turn off automatically if it hasn't been used for 10 minutes, which is a great feature! I also like that it comes with a charging cord and a bag to store it in. I'm very happy with this cordless curling iron! It curls my hair, the curls hold, and it's the perfect size for travel. This is a perfect heat tool for me! I have short hair and I don’t like fussing with a million heat tools to get my hair to behave itself. I also don’t have a ton of space in my tiny bathroom. This heat tool is compact and stands up on my shelf by itself without any infuriating cords getting tangled up everywhere. It heats up super fast and has four heat settings so I can control the level of curl I need. It charges fast and only takes a few minutes to get a good curl, so a charge lasts all week and I don’t have to think about it. I appreciate that they added a temperature converter sticker so I can tell how hot it is in freedom units lol. The brush cage clicks on and off super easily so I can go from the heat brush to curling iron quickly without fighting with it. And it’s a super cute powder pink color, so it looks stylish to boot. Overall, this is never going to replace a true hair maven’s beloved heat tools. But for someone like me who’s admittedly kind of lazy, but still wants all the benefit of having a few heat tools at my disposal, this is amazingly convenient and does the job admirably. In less than five minutes, I have a cute curly do that got compliments all day long and I never have to fight with cords again. For someone like me, this is a fantastic tool that is absolutely worth the price point. Highly recommend! Read more
