These Cortelco 2x4 LED troffers are a big improvement over the flickering fluorescent fixtures they replaced. They look cleaner and more modern, and the light is consistent and easy on the eyes. Being able to select both the brightness and color temperature is a very useful feature, allowing you to tailor the lighting to your space. I bought a pair of these for the basement office to replace an ancient two tube fluorescent fixture, and they are bright!. They installed easily into the suspended ceiling, and they look very clean and uniformly white both off and on. I hadn't used a 10v dimmer in a residential environment before so stringing the low-voltage control wires was a learning experience, but the dimming function in the LED driver on the panels works well, making the room usable without having to wear sunglasses. Installation was easy - the driver is in a metal box with standard 3/4" knockouts, so I used 14/2 Romex for power and 16 gauge stranded lamp cord for the 10v dimmer, clamped in the strain relief. These were $80 for the pair of panels in damaged packaging, but the panels themselves were in perfect condition. I'd buy again if I had another room needing ceiling lights; they are very nice. Not as bright as I hoped (I should have bought three vs two), but still lights up the basement well, and look great. As others mentioned, installation instructions aren’t very good, but the actual process is easy, especially with how light they are. Just know you’ll want metal snips or something else to cut the tabs/hooks free, then pliers to bend them out 90 degrees. Anyhow , would buy again. Read more

These lights are extremely affordable, good quality, easy to install(although connecting wires could be about 2" longer to make things easier), and offer the perfect adjustability options for wattage, and color. These have made a huge difference in our work area, and since we installed ourselves we saved about 90% off what the electricians were going to charge. Read more

I had two of these fixtures installed at my office as replacements for old four tube fluorescent fixtures in a dropped ceiling. My installer had them up quickly, and they are nice and bright. The light is cooler (blue) than the old fixtures (much more yellow). The "lens"/cover is smooth rather than the textured plastic of the old fixtures, so I think that these look nicer. As the ballasts in our other fluorescent fixtures die, we'll replace them with these. The packaging was intact and I had no damage issues with the lights when received. Read more

Wow! What a difference between our outdated fluorescent lights and these easy to install LED panels. We have a drop ceiling in my wife’s craft room so it was simply a matter of removing the old 2 x 4 panel, and dropping these in. Then run the wiring from old to new. We didn’t bother with the dimmer switch wiring as we wanted full light spectrum every time. The directions are very generic but if you can wire up a simple switch you shouldn’t have any issues. Just pay attention to where the wiring goes: Input vs Output, which is clearly labeled. Wife loves them. Read more
