We bought this to accompany our AC during the summers, it works perfectly! It keeps our entire living room so cool and comfortable it’s so easy to use and install, the design is perfect because it’s not too big or too wide and doesn’t take up much space at all. We ran it the entire summer practically and only needed to clean the vents once. Also it doesn’t leak anywhere, we never had to drain it because we didn’t use that function on it, we only used the cooling function. We did have to improvise with the window hook up because we have tall windows, but overall it has been an amazing addition and it helps keep our AC from working too hard on those real hot summer days! We have no return air ducks on the second floor of our condo which is where our bedrooms are, so it gets pretty hot up here, especially when the afternoon sun hits the windows. Our master bedroom is broken into two connecting rooms totaling approximately 300 sq ft. I didn’t use the air conditioner for three weeks after delivery because the outside temperature dropped again. I’ve been using it daily now for about a couple of weeks and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. This air conditioner will cool down my space within 15 to 20 minutes after turning it on. It cycles on and off efficiently, so I can set it and forget it. The only complaint I have about the unit so far are the control buttons do not quickly respond to the touch and therefore I think it’s not responding at all. It took some getting used to. Other than that, set up was fairly easy even though we had to customize the exhaust set up to fit our window. Not much of a big deal just needed to get creative. Will post more after summer gets into full swing. Read more

This is the second air conditioner I have purchased from Costway for my home. This model has been receiving several bad reviews lately, especially about the customer service. What is wrong with people who discover a problem and immediately call an item AND a company lousy so quickly? My first model from this firm was purchased during the record-breaking heat we had in WA last year. It performed just wonderfully and still is. We did have a question and the people at Costway answered quickly and very politely. This year we wanted another, more compact model and ordered this one. Yes, this time there was a problem. I am pretty astute with mechanical/electrical devices, so, without opening the unit I checked everything that MIGHT cause it to shut off before cooling reached anywhere near the room temperature (determined by a thermometer). Nope, I couldn't find anything. I emailed customer service, explaining the problem and what had been checked. I was met with a prompt response. These people CARE! I was asked a few questions, assured they wanted to make the purchase a great one. When it became apparent there was a flaw, at least in this unit, I was immediately offered two options: a partial refund (because I really liked the size and everything except this one defect) OR a prepaid label so the device could be returned, at NO cost to me, and a full refund, including the tax I paid, on this unit. Honestly, I won't hesitate to purchase another appliance from these wonderful people! My first purchase is working as indicated. This model looked great, was the perfect size. And I couldn't have asked for faster or better attention when it proved to be defective. New Normal means allowing others a bit of courtesy IF something, for ANY reason, isn't perfect. As a doc, working the past 2+ years with COVID-19 patients I cannot judge WHY they contracted this awesome virus! I also cannot judge when the lab results are so far off they have to be redone. Come on, most of us are doing the best we can. On the other hand, I NOW recall initially ordering an often advertised name brand company's air-conditioner last year (way ahead of the heat wave) for my parents from a store near their Florida home. THAT one arrived, having been poorly packed, missing parts, the works. Took me weeks to reach ANYONE when that unit failed to work at all. Now THAT company's reps (both the initial person and their superior) basically asked me what did I expect from an "inexpensive" model...it cost $700! It was only when I tactfully explained that I, too, record all calls (the phone # given is mostly used for calls from the hospital pertaining to a patient's situation...they are transcribed and entered into files) that THIS firm suddenly grew a brain. But I was only offered an exchange and would need to wait 6 months for even that! When I explained I now needed one promptly THEY tried every excuse....until I "reminded" them each word was being recorded and would be posted in the waiting room of the COVID-19 unit if I did not receive an immediate refund. In this day and age it may be nice to be "important," but it's more important to be nice, IMHO. From my first purchase of a Costway appliance I have been treated extremely well. Think before you slam someone, please? My parents? I forgot! I ordered THEM a Costway through that same store. They love it! And I don't have any connection to anyone at that company. Take care and stay safe...we are not done with COVID-19. Cheryl 😊🌹 PS- I gave this model 4 stars because it did have a defect that I believe might be affecting more than the one I received. But if the company can find out what was wrong I will absolutely buy another of this model--with a very small footprint and terrific cooling, maybe a minor adjustment is all it will take. And, it's much quieter than most (I know lots of people who would want the model I will be purchasing at the moment)! Have a super and safe summer🌅 Read more

Cools as advertised. Since a/c's low/high fan operation only affects fan speed, place larger fan running high speed in front of 10K Btu a/c unit and run a/c unit on low speed to dampen noise for easier sleeping. Photo is test config running off of Power Smart 2500W gas generator in Houston back yard. Started up in eco mode fine. Also tested this a/c unit off 2000W Jackery battery generator and used 900W, started no problems. Selected 10K btu because it draws less power, cheaper, and will run longer. With fan, 10K btu is more than sufficient for larger room. Just started using a/c unit, hope it lasts along with generators. Read more

Bought to use in RV. AC cools ok/ not good, just ok. However, the vent hose gets hot and basically cancels out any coolness the AC provides. Also the vent hose does not stay in place on the back of unit. I tried duck tape, but that did not hold because the hose gets so hot and adhesive on tape just melts and releases and leaves a sticky mess. The piece that you use to put in window for the vent hose, did not fit and would not stay in the window, again resorted to duck tape and cardboard. I would not buy this again. Would return for refund but I am past return by date due to being on the road traveling. Read more

I Live in AZ and we have a room in the house that just won’t cool, and is hot as hades! This room is my work from home space and is usually 5/6 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. I tried a portable evap cooler because I didn’t want to mess with running an exhaust hose but it didn’t work at all. I returned the evap cooler and got the 8000BTU and can say it worked like a charm. It cooled my office space down even colder that the rest of the house. The Window kit that comes with the unit didn’t work I needed something that expanded out to at least 70”. I ended up getting a kit on Amazon that was for windows/sliding doors and worked great. You will need 5.9 hose kit if you aren’t using the enclosed window kit. Read more
