COVERGIRL Smoothers AquaSmooth Makeup Foundation Ivory 4 oz

I’ve used CG products for years, including Simply Powder Foundation in Ivory. I wanted to try out the AquaSmooth in Ivory since I’m aging, and powder foundations look too dry sometimes. It’s a surprisingly great cream makeup for the price! True to its “aqua” name, it feels a bit wet/cool when first applied, but quickly dries to very light and natural finish. This stuff truly just feels like my own skin, no heavy cakey crap at all. Glides over fine lines, and lasts all day. Would work for oily skin, which mine still is sometimes. I would describe the coverage as light to medium, depending how much is applied. Note about CG foundations, they tend to run a bit dark. I have warm-toned skin and in other brands I usually wear the 3rd or 4th lightest shade (think “buff,” “sand,” “light beige”). However, with CG AquaSmooth, Ivory is the lightest shade available and it works for me. It is perhaps a *tad* too light, but just a tad. And I’d rather have that, than a yellow or orange line on my neck where the foundation ends! I don’t expect this 0.4-oz compact to last as long as a larger bottle of liquid foundation, but it’s cheap enough and convenient enough that I don’t mind. Makes my skin look beautiful! Read more

This is the only Cover Girl foundation I can wear, all of their liquid foundations oxidize and turn orange on my fair skin. This formula does not turn orange or break me out. This is my go to makeup. I only wear liquid foundation for special occasions and for those days Maybelline in porcelain is the best fit for me. Aqua Smooth compact foundation is a great product! Read more

I’ve been using this makeup for a long time, and it’s been a go-to for me. It provides good coverage, applies smoothly, and leaves a nice, natural-looking finish. It’s easy to blend and works well for everyday wear. That said, it’s not waterproof or sweat-proof. If it gets wet, it can cake and leave white spots where water beads, so I wouldn’t recommend it for hot, humid days or outdoor activities. I used to wear this makeup as a teenager, and it was my favorite. I stopped wearing it as it was hard to find, but when I saw it for sale on Amazon, I snatched it up again. I wasn't sure how it would do with my aging skin, as the cheap Covergirl liquid foundations that I could get away with wearing as a young woman make me break out now and look very oily. I had been using CoverGirl Simply Ageless with decent results, but I love this more. The sponge is soft and doesn't soak up the makeup like some others, and the foundation blends beautifully. It doesn't build up in creases, and it isn't too oily or dry. It doesn't last as long as I'd like for the price, but I'd gladly spend the money to restock. Read more

I’ve been using this for a few years. I like that it’s easily applied with the enclosed sponge and is not heavy. It does hide flaws and my face likes it. It provides sun protection. If it’s on my forehead, it will get on the inside of my hats, but it’s really not a problem. Read more
