Customers find the webcam works well, particularly with Mac mini for FaceTime and Skype, and consider it good value for money.

I received it today. I plugged it in and booted up Ubuntu Linux 18.04.1. I made a movie in Cheese. Video and sound were fine. I made a Skype test call. No problems there. I booted up Windows 10 and it worked fine there too. Video is mediocre but fine for a 20 dollar webcam. Sound is fine as well. The Camera sits securely on top of my monitor and it will also stand on a desktop or shelf. I measured the USB cable at 58 inches - so almost 5 feet which was fine for my setup and there is lots of slack. So far I am quite happy with it. Read more
I bought this webcam for my M1 Mac Mini, and have been pleased with it so far. The picture quality is good and better than my old Windows laptop, and it was recognized by the system (running Monterey) upon plugging it in with no additional driver downloads needed. The downside is Creative Labs' software is only available for Windows. As the webcam was a budget purchase and video settings can still be adjusted somewhat within Zoom and Teams that's fine, but given that it's 2022 offering at least a basic Mac version of the software seems like it should be a default. That's no a dealbreaker, though, as the cam works fine for video calls without the additional tools. Read more
I have better cameras for streaming or recording but I prefer the ease of use of a web cam. I bought this to replace an older Logitech cam that was 1080p as well. But there's no comparison. This was super simple to set up and test. But the major factor for me was that it's a much better picture for the typical desktop user's environment. Read more
I use for on line meetings. I really like the zoom feature. I have multiple monitors and sit slightly back from them. This lets me zoom in on my face better. I replaced one without a zoom. Good enough picture quality. Not sure about the sound, I use a separate headset. Need to reset the zoom each time I use the camera. Not sure if this is operator error or just the way it is. Read more
I bought this to replace my laptop's 720p stock camera. It has some nice auto-exposure settings that almost negate the need for external lighting, but it has some big drawbacks for me as well. It does do 4K, but all my capture software is limited to 1080P, so it doesn't have much functionality there. It's USB 2.0, so if it needs additional bandwidth, it won't be there. A 4K stream plus audio might be pushing the limits (or exceeding) USB 2 bandwidth. And the frame rate: It says it's 30FPS, but in reality, it blurs every other frame, so it seems like 10 to 15FPS. It has a wide-angle lens, and the manual focus is a nice plus. No more frame "blur, focus, blur, focus" throughout the recording. However, there is no digital zoom or auto-framing on the hardware, but you can get this functionality with some software. This would be fine for video chat, but if you're using it for video production, find something MUCH better. Audio-wise, I've found it to be much better than the built-in mics on my laptop but not as good as my DAC's phantom-powered XLR studio mics. Again, an upgrade for the laptop hardware but not a replacement for pro-quality gear. All in all, you get an fair camera for the price! The reason I docked 2 stars was the poor frame lag (blur) and the bad software (don't install it; it won't give any additional functionality!). Read more
bought Dec 2022. Still working great in August 2025. Use it everyday. I have already recommended it to my family and friends. Great webcam. I use it for facetime and Webex and whatsapp calls. Read more
Covid 19 forced me to purchase a long forgotten device, an external webcam. There are many webcams out there from brands that I am not familiar with, however, for my luck, I stumble with this Creative Webcam. Since I am familiar with the brand, due to their sound cards, I decided to give it a try. Below my observations: 1- Simple camera, nothing too fancy but it does the job. 2- Seamless plug and play device. Just connected the USB Type A to my laptop/desktop and it was recognized. 3- Tested on Zoom, WEBEX, Google meet and Skype without any issue. It has a build in MIC that works fine. 4- The camera can be mounted on a tripod so it works well when you would like to play games through video conferences for example, MAGIC. 5- One very good feature is the Privacy lens cap. Very easy to avoid being seen just by covering the lens with the attached rubber lens cap. 6- Very good quality of image for the price point. 7- The on Monitor installation could be a little flimsy depending on how wide your monitor is. I used it on my desktop monitor and it took me a little to get it properly fit but on the laptop it was easier. Overall, this webcam does the job and it is from a reputable company. I would recommend this product for someone that needs a webcam to be on video for meetings, gaming and even simple streaming. Read more
