Exactly what I needed for my saltwater aquariums works good as filter media but also in the aquarium. It looks gorgeous. A huge bonus and why I'm probably going to buy some more is because it comes with pink, purple and blue Coraline algae on some of the pieces. They must keep them in saltwater cuz these were kind of wet when I opened it or moist. Healthy, clean smelling and now is kick-starting Pico aquarium with beautiful purple and pink Coraline. I have ordered this crushed coral twice and I will continue to order it. I have two freshwater tanks, both 20 gallon, one is a betta tank and one is a tetra tank. I ordered this crushed coral to bring my pH levels up because I use tap water and treat it. I split the bag between both tanks. I put some of the coral in the filter and I put some in the tank. It is easy to hide if you want to put it behind plants, and it looks good in the tank. You don't have to clean it, it doesn't grow any type of algae. The size of the chunks vary so that you can use some for decoration and hide others. I use the small ones in my filter and I hide the big ones behind plants. When I split the bag between my two 20 gallon tanks it raised my pH to the perfect level. I still have not had to use my second bag because my first bag has not yet completely dissolved and my pH levels are still perfect. All in all, after comparing prices, reviews, and product quality of different items, this is the one I ordered and I definitely made the right choice. This seems good large pieces of coral they do come in a mesh bag easy enough to drop into a corner of a wearing if you wanted to. Seems to be working using it to buffer my pH and KH. Read more

I bought this to help balance the PH of my goldfish tank water, and I use it as filter medium too. My tap water is very naturally acidic (between 6.0 to 5.0 range), and I wanted to add carbonate to the tank naturally. It is a very subtle difference, and has taken time (2-3 months) but it is also acting as a fantastic biofilter too. I was able to take out half the coral and squish the zip pouch into my existing Whisper filter along with a felt filter sheet. I put a few of the larger pieces on the tank bottom for decor. Read more
