I'm 5'4" and 140 lbs. Purchased the size small because I wanted a tighter fit, to avoid falling down while running. The shorts are SUPER comfortable and the material is butter soft! They were slightly lose but honestly wouldn't be an issue unless you have heavy items in the pockets. After a few minutes of sweating, the shorts were stuck in spot and didn't have any other issues. They stayed in place well enough while running but did move a little with the warm up. They cover up the lower pouch perfectly. The color is vibrant! Close enough to the big brands but well below their price point. These are soft and breathable with a bunch of stretch (see waist photo). They aren’t overly structured with little compression so don’t expect them to “hold you in.” However, the stretchy waist doesn’t give you muffin top and allows for a lot of movement. I have tried biker shorts from all over, from expensive to cheap, and these win. (Size M, 143 lbs, 5’7) Ultimately, they’re so comfortable. The compression is just the right amount, not too tight and not too loose. I liked these much that I have bought 5 pairs in different colors, plus I have 3 pairs of just the black. These are perfect for summer. They’re lightweight, but not see through or cheaply made. The fabric is butter soft, as advertised. I like these! They are pretty comfortable and well-made. Definitely a good dupe for much more expensive brands. I ordered these and the "Naked Feeling" version from CRZ Yoga at the same time and those are much better in my opinion because they don't ride up! The Butterluxe shorts have more compression, but they rode up significantly more on me. I like them enough to not bother returning, but I reach for the other pair over any others.
