thick queens, these are for you
This one’s for all my fellow thick thigh ladies. Bear with me… First of all, I am 5’9” 155lbs with a pear shaped body. I have a relatively small waist and a large bottom and hips. I typically purchase size M or L in bottoms, depending on the style. Mediums fits my waist but I need large across the butt/hips or I’ll bust the seams. I don’t know why designers refuse to acknowledge us, but Latto got it right when she said, “pretty face, no waist, and a big ol’ a**”. Buying jeans/pants/shorts is an absolute chore for us, so I’m here to ease your mind. These shorts are a national treasure. I coach track and cross country and I always struggle to find shorts that don’t ride-up, bunch in the crotch, show too much butt, accentuate belly or hips, and are too tight across the butt. These shorts have it all. I purchased a few different styles of the CRZ shorts and these high waisted dolphin shorts take the cake ;) I ordered a Medium (instead of a Large) because the flowy design of the shorts. The waistband is soft and comfortable. It doesn’t dig in to me and leave impression marks. I would say it is true to size but there is plenty of stretch in the material so don’t fret. The wide waistband sits in just the right spot, across the belly just at/below the bellybutton, giving me a little extra confidence, by so very comfortably stabilizing my mom pooch. The amount fabric/sizing across the butt/hips is very generous. They are not tight/pulling across my butt. I can comfortably run/stretch/exercise in these without fear of busting seams. The length is perfect for me, not too short, not too long. There is some minor bunching in the crotch when I run, but in my 25 years of running, I have yet to find a short that do not do that. It’s not a shorts problem, it’s a hungry thigh problem. IFKYK. The flowy design of these shorts is perfect. These shorts offer the space my hips need without showing my a** cheeks while I’m running. My ONLY complaint, is that the liner in the shorts could be a tad larger/wider. While the shorts are nearly perfect, the inner liner (built in undies) does give me a slight wedgie when I run. I would prefer a more full-coverage liner. But with how much I love the shorts, the liner is the least of my concerns because I could always cut it out if I hated it (which I don’t). The material of the shorts is so soft, breathable, and comfortable. The design is flattering for those with a large butt/hips. Color is irrelevant but I ordered the red first. After I wore them the first time I loved them so much that I came back to order more in black, pink and blue. If CRZ ever stopped making these shorts, I’d be devastated. They are worth the $28 I paid for them, and I would buy them again in a heartbeat. Read more
