Product works great. See people initially complain about it being too runny, but it’s all in the amount of time you let the machine run + the recipe you use. With the right amount of sugar, it’s perfect. The slush is right on for me. It’s also very easy to clean + let air dry. Just let it run its cycle, wipe it off good, and let it dry. This Cuisinart 6-in-1 maker was a hit right out of the box. Setup was simple, the controls are straightforward, and everything feels well-built. Update 1/30/2026 I wanted this to work so I kept trying. I used the recipes that came with the machine and the recipes on the website which were different. Why those werr not included with the machine is beyond me. Nothing worked, I tweaked and tweaked and still nothing worked I'm done I'll take the loss. But I now I worry about buying Cusinart products. In fact I just purchased a breadmaker. I really liked the cusinart breadmaker but after this incident I was worried it would happen again so I purchased the breadmake from a different company. A review like this is a first for me but I was so disappointed and tried so hard to get it to work that I felt other customers should know about this. Let the buyer beware. The ice cream maker work ok and is easy to clean but it is a disappointment regarding to firmness of the ice cream. It's just too soft even for soft serve. I tried tweaking the recipes which shouldn't have to do. Still to soft so I have to put in the freezer. I would have sent it back but it is easy to use so I'm putting up with the disappointment. I have another compressor ice cream maker abd it works great but is hard to clean and I have to put the ice cream over night in the freezer but it does taste great. 1. It cannot make the ice cream cold enough without pre-chilling the mixture. Even after running several cycles. 2. Capacity is not great - You'll get about two bowls of ice cream per batch. It's quite a bit of work for that amount of ice cream 3. Cleaning - Several pieces to clean each time that are not dishwasher safe, and requires flushing the entire unit with several rounds of warm water to really clean this. Also, once the auger is removed, you then find a large amount of the best ice cream (and coldest) stuck to the auger. Good Points: 1. Simple to use and appears to be well-built 2. Aesthetically pleasing and looks great on the countertop 3. Fun to dispense ice cream with the lever. 4. The ice cream that I did make was very good - the supplied coffee ice cream recipe was spot on (but subbed a double shot of espresso for the recommended instant) Overall strikes me as something that will be used a few times then left on the shelf.
