. . . a single serve cup, I must share my experience with you. I have had versions of this Cuisinart for five or six years now, started with the Keurig but the things kept failing and I grew tired of returning them - they spent more time in a return box than on my countertop, done with that! Found this and immediately grew to like it. Dependable, for the most part, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, compact, yah, nice fit for me. I quickly found out that no matter how functional they are, these are time limited - not grannies 50-75 year heirloom coffee pots, those days are long over. Had two of these spanning five to six years but eventually they give up. If I do the math correctly, if purchased one for an average of 2 years for $80.00, that means that 365x2=730 days. $80.00/730=rounded to 11 cents per day. Now I consider this a win considering the throw away appliances that are sold to us. Having said that, this third one from Cuisinart came to me defective. Quickly, the push to ON/OFF switch pressed on but did not spring back so that I could push to off, poor QC at the factory. Sent it back through Amazon's wonderful return policy, got refunded, and quickly ordered another as a replacement, works just fine. Here is your takeaway: set the thing up when it arrives, and immediately put it through it's paces - stress test it. Run vinegar through it, cycle it then with clean water to flush over, and over, and over again. Make sure all the features work, don't wait to the last minute. The thing works just fine now. Will it break tomorrow, God only knows but finally, 5Gold because I really like it, good luck! Read more

Impressed. I use this in my office and it’s very quiet. I only wish that the tray was adjustable for different cup sizes as coffee splatters out when it’s dispensing. Read more

This is the second cruisinert coffee maker. I purchased their first one was the bigger ful size one which stopped working after about twelve months. It kept telling me to reset it, which I was not able to do called customer service, and they were going to charge me a hefty price for resetting it. I then decided to purchase this one which it's very loud when brewing, especially when finishing but I could have put up with that. But now, after several months of using it, it's leaking, it's very cheaply made for the price they charge and for the name on the machine. So i'm done with this brand obviously High price cheaply made Read more

I have a larger Cusinart coffee maker at home and love it so much that I bought the smaller version for when I visit my daughter (she has a different kind of coffee maker that I don’t love). With Cuisinart there is no waiting for the water to heat up, it is instantaneous. I love that feature. K-cup machines are simple and easy to use, are easy to clean and provide the right amount of coffee with a choice of ounce settings. Read more

Personally for the price, I think it’s the best single cup coffee maker out there. Yes it leaks, IF, IF IF you take the reservoir off the machine BUT you don’t have to. Just fill up the reservoir with a pitcher and voila, it doesn’t leak. I only make 1-2 cups in the morning, so this fits the bill. You can use Kcups with this or your own coffee in their own basket they provide with the machine. I like using my own coffee so using the basket/pod they provide makes it worthwhile. It takes about 45 seconds for a cup to brew. So the fact it doesn’t have a timer or clock is negligible. It’s simple bare bones single cup machine where you can use your own preferred coffee and not Kcups. Read more

Extremely disappointed that it leaks a month after purchase. Will be returning today. Follow-up: Unfortunately I am a few days outside of the return window so I have to work directly with Cuisinart. Follow-up 2: While Cuisinart did reply promptly to my inquiry, I purchased a replacement coffeemaker right away since I had no idea how long I would be without one. (Yes, another Cuisinart since I never had issues with their other appliances and this machine came highly recommended) I haven't gotten as far as an approval but I was told Cuisinart cannot refund money, only replace the machine. I don't need another coffeemaker so I just went back to Amazon about a refund. Sigh. Follow-up FINAL: I just chatted with a most helpful Customer Service Rep about returning the machine to Amazon. I am revising this to 3 stars since the machine is still defective but 2 stars to Customer Service! Read more

So far so good. I don’t recommend using replacement filter baskets to brew your own because coffee grounds get all over the place and dark brown sediment in the bottom of cup. Yuk! I will say that It definitely works best with the k cups. I always press down on cup before closing lid and pods don’t explode. Learned this from another reviewer of this appliance. I definitely enjoy the coffee it produces. It is hot but not so hot it scorching which is a plus if your on the go. Brews pretty fast. Read more
