I love that this board grows with the child. I have 2 grands, 2 and 4 yrs old, who are captivated by it. The 4 yr old loves showing mastery over the Level 1 cards and is challenged by Level 2. The 2yr is motivated by his sister's success. It takes determination and practice to pick up and place the letters. The magnet is very strong (it can lift sewing shears off of a table) but the pen must be held straight up to make proper contact to be able to transport the letters. Be sure to show your little one to begin with all of the letters spread out to avoid unnecessary frustration from trying to get one out of a large group of them. I wish that all of the cards could be stored in the viewing slot but it only fits 1. Otherwise, I'm really impressed with this toy and so glad that I ordered it. Read more

Alphabet MagnaDots board comes with activity boards that slide in the back so children can match letters and sounds. The boards are a thick paperboard. I wish that all of the activity boards could easily be stored in the back slot, but it is very difficult to get them to fit. The magnetic pen stores in the side of the board. Over time, I worry that the magnetic pen might scratch the surface of the plastic board. Overall, this is a great tool for young children to explore the alphabet and can be used for a few years from recognizing letters to being able to match sounds to pictures. Read more

First, the quality of this board is pretty decent, and can well designed. The colors are vibrant and mixed, making it a great way for kids to interact with colors and define them. The clear plastic covering the pieces is sturdy, and it did fall multiple times but nothing happen to it. The pen is solid and the magnetic effect is impressive, and keeps holding the piece until you drop it at the right circle. I think this is great also because it enhances kids' motor skills, and teach them how to hold a piece until you reach the right spot. Additionally, it's great to teach them about the alphabet order and which letter goes where. Read more

This toy is sturdy and well designed. I like that the magnet pen is not only attached, but that it can be stored unobtrusively inside the toy. There are several large cards that come with it that slide into the top of the board. Some are the regular alphabet, upper and lower case, one in cursive, and others for different letter learning games. My son took to it right away, showing off his ABC's. It would be cool if there were another version with more letters so that more words could be spelled, but overall, this is a nice and engaging toy. Read more

I love toys that educate and the child has no idea cause it's just fun form them. I ordered those for my nephew who is 3 and starting preschool this September and we had a fun time playing with it. The colors are vibrant which always catch the eyes of children and he got to hold a "pen" love the fine motor skills he's learning from it. It also travels well with little to no baggage. Read more
