with this I can see where my pigmentation marks are that doesn't show up yet on my face. Not as good as a scan, but I can see where some problem spots are and concentrate treatments on that area. Be careful not to shine in the eye. It's a very bright light and could damage them. After using this every once in a while over the past year, I can tell there is improvements. It's a slow process when you've tanned religiously as gen x gal. It's still running on the original battery...and you can also use it to see sprays of urine. I’m shocked by the quality of this for the price. I own a number of higher end UV lights, most of which are custom orders. I bought this to give to a friend to “charge” a glow-in-the-dark part of her Halloween costume. I was hoping it would provide some meager boost to it as the night wore on. Instead, I found that the light produces a lot of UV and really charges up the glow in the dark filament I have here. I’m very happily surprised by how strong it is vs what I expected for the price. Overall quality seems good. The connection is USB C, not micro USB, so that’s great. The battery appears to be an 18350, but it is soldered in, so it’s theoretically replaceable but not practically so. Along those lines: you can unscrew the head. DO NOT do so. I almost broke the wire from the (soldered) battery trying. The included filter seems to be legit but also might be passing through more non-UV light than I’d expect. So I suspect it’s legitimate but maybe a wee bit thin. It’s very simple to operate: charge until the light isn’t red. Press the button on the end to turn it on and again to turn it off. Don’t use a charger that provides over 2A - which means you probably need to use a USB A to USB C cable (included) and not, say, your phone or laptop charging cable (please note this). I honestly expected this to be junk that hopefully survived one night. I am very happy with it and might buy one for myself. Read more
