David King Co Messenger Bag 1 Cafe One Size

This was a birthday gift that I got to choose - one of my favorite kinds. I'd recently been advised to get a cross-body bag for my necessities, as shoulder bags both stress my back and slide down my arm (and pinch!) when I'm using forearm crutches. I started searching and comparing in January, and chose this bag in early March. The time shopping/reading reviews/compiling data was definitely worth it, because this is a winner. This bag works equally well for men or women. (My husband has already asked if he could borrow it if I was not using it.) It is "unisex" without looking too masculine, too feminine, or too blah. That's a tough thing to do! It's classically styled, and the "cafe" color works with black, brown, blue, etc. The bag itself is a good size - large enough to hold a laptop (of reasonable size) if you need to carry one. It has thoughtful pockets - the padded laptop sleeve (with a secure strap), a large inner pocket, a good-sized zipper pocket plus two open pockets covered by the flap that have various slots for pens, cards, etc. within them, and a large full width pocket on the reverse -- I can lose my cell phone all OVER the place! ;-) I clip my key carabiner on the hardware for the strap. I could EASILY use this bag as a weekender, though I am a light packer for trips. The hardware is great looking and works well. The flap has a ring on it that the bag's tab passes through to latch with a magnetic snap closure. It stays shut when you want it to, but is very easy to open when necessary. The strap itself is clever - it has just enough curve that it lays comfortably whether you choose to wear the bag across the body or over a shoulder, and you can wear it on the right or left. The strap has plenty of length to adjust, too, so even tall people like me can wear it low enough to benefit from the shift in the center of gravity. Even though this was a gift, the cost was coming out of our household budget, so I was conscious of price. This bag is an absolute bargain. It is far less costly than most similar offerings, but the quality is top notch. The stitching is flawless; the hardware is splendid; and the leather is gorgeous, soft, and high-quality. Read more

I bought this bag several years ago and am still using it. I have a long commute and use the bag not to carry a laptop, but to carry several books, cables for electronic devices, wallet, glasses, grooming products, etc. It is very well designed with front pockets (one for keys and pens, one for pills and phone) and large back pocket which you can squeeze a newspaper into if needed. The bag is very well crafted and has an extra long shoulder strap which I find particularly appealing. I love this bag. Although larger than I expected it's really a wonderful option for carrying file folders, notebooks, and/or a laptop. I really like the vertical orientation - a little slimmer and more stylish than an ordinary messenger bag or briefcase. Read more

I would not recommend this product. After a couple of weeks usage the bag has splits down the side, as though a razor blade had sliced through it. Read more

I only buy leather or cloth products for recycle reasons. I have owned other David King products and have always been happy. Nice lines, good leather, well made & great color. Able to carry at least 2 computers 15 & 11 and all the cables, lots of room for extras with out being to big. Not to heavy for me to use for my business & when flying fits nicely under the seat. I used this bag for many years before it had issues. It was amazing and I miss it :( I used it a lot, too much in actuality, it was used for school, work and travel. I loved this bag and highly recommend it. I think the only reason it did not look well after about 3 years was because I over used it. It is highly functional bag, with many pockets. I may re-buy it.
