A silly good time! I had a blast with this game, it was pretty fun, sweet graphics, and I prefer the new character models/voice actors than the original big time. It has its frustrating moments just like in the original but there’s lots of quality of life improvements like auto save/check points, Frank runs faster, and more fluid controls. If you’ve had your doubts about this game, you should absolutely get it!! Read more

Having played the original years ago, with no online guides to help, I was as scared as the survivors in the mall in this game. Now with this remastered version, I was able to complete the game. Truly a fun experience for fans of zombie games. Read more

I know some people have said it’s not as hard as the original, it’s still fun to play. The new easy mode does help with people who don’t have a lot of time or struggles with the original game. I had a blast and with the new system of tracking total zombie kills it’s easier to unlock the real mega buster as well as the rest of the multiple play through trophies. I’d recommend this if you enjoyed the original dead rising or just want something to scratch that zombie itch. Read more

New graphics and quality of life updates. However, it has been heavily censored and lost the zany edge of the original game that made it fun and unique. Main character looks totally different from Frank in the original game. The blood and gore have been toned down. In-game photography now has totally removed the “erotic” photo category. Psycho bosses like the hardware shop have changed dialogue and background for political correctness. You can still enjoy this game. But if you played the original and became a fan, you can tell Capcom trimmed this down for mainstream corporate gaming. Which unfortunately, a game made for everyone is a game made for no one. I bought it to collect and to see the new graphics/performance, but at least this remaster makes the original Xbox 360 release retain value. It’s sad to see remasters censor their original releases for political correctness. This would be 5/5 if it wasn’t for censorship, because the original game is a once in a lifetime game. Watch the Crowbcat video on YouTube about its censorship changes. Read more

While it isn't a full remake, it is great way to enjoy the original Dead Rising with some modern creature comforts. The survivor AI is vastly improved over the original and the game can be way more forgiving (if you want it to be). The grind for unlocks is still there, but they generally do not require you to complete them in one run (with your progress carrying over from game to game). That said, I wish Capcom did more with this release. Co-op, added content... anything else would have been great. I would have also appreciated if they didn't have a ton of paid DLC locking away a lot of fun costumes away. As it is, the game isn't really a "deluxe" as much as it is a slightly modernized port of a great game. Still, I'd love to see a similar port for Dead Rising 2 ("Off the Record", "Case Zero", and "Case West", too), however unlikely that is. Read more
