This Tadeto Decibel Meter has been both a blessing and a curse in my quest to monitor noise levels... I get bunch of complaints as an audio engineer with my mix being too loud.. Anyways, its easy, its stupid, and it works! It measures the level not perfectly, but its good enoguh to get a general sense of the reading of the room. If you want something ACTUALLY accureate you would get a measurement microphone and use an actual software.. But this works for what it is, the battery lasts actually quite long. I have been using it for a month now, and I am still using the ORIGINAL batteries... so for what it is its worth it. Read more

I have been struggling with a disruptive neighbor for years, the Police used to provide lip service and nothing more. I purchased this meter after having a discussion with a lawyer about what to do. Once the Police became aware that I was monitoring and documenting the issue they realized that lip service was not going to be good enough anymore and they actually started enforcing the laws. If you need to defend your home (or self) from unreasonable noise levels this is a good place to start. Read more

This unit is cheap, but so are the batteries, case, and included little screwdriver. My biggest gripe is that the battery door tiny black screw isn't held captive and the door itself has zero clips to hold it in place so if you lose the screw, you're going to have to duck tape the battery door on. The backlight is always on but the unit has a 10 minute auto off that can be temporarily disabled. Accuracy may be suspect but it should be good enough for relative measurements as the 'max' function appears to work well other than the fact you have to cycle power to reset it. All that said, I'd still say it's worth the price for the features it has. Read more
