Hardware was all as advertised in the particular configuration I chose: 32GB RAM, 1TB Solid State Harddrive (the following were not configurable but I’m noting here in case the listing changes: 11th generation i7, WiFi 6, USB C port, two USB 3 ports, HDMI port, micro SD card port). It’s a decent lower midrange computer, and handles multiple virtual machines while running BitDefender, Zoom, Slack, LibreOffice, Atom, Powershell, and multiple browsers all at once using both the built-in display as well as a 1080p external monitor. It really can’t handle most graphics intensive games, so if you’re interested in that be sure to look for a discrete GPU. The integrated GPUs are almost there for doing some basic gaming but not quite yet. I don’t game so it’s almost perfect for my needs. The trackpad stops working if you put your arm weight onto the plastic housing area just below and to the left of the trackpad area (if you are at the bird’s eye view of the keyboard). I purchased this Dell Inspiron on Amazon as a condition new computer. In the last three months, I began to have experience problems, so I called Amazon, and like everything, they referred me to Dell tech support. Once I contacted Dell, we worked on tests to determine the issue. After about a month, the computer locked and could not be opened; thus, Dell finally sent a Tech to repair the unit, but when he opened the unit, he found the Dell computer was refurbished and not a new computer as advertised on Amazon, so further in speaking to Dell, they advised me that the Dell unit was renovated and the drive was not a certified Dell SSD DRIVE as advertised; therefore the warranty was void, then Dell advised that the computer was and still is registered to another user and therefore I could not register the computer as it had already been registered with Dell. Lastly, Dell advised that PCOnline365 was not an authorized dealer of Dell products. Well, herein lies the problem, the computer does not work due to a refurbished hard driver not for use in Dell laptop, can't register the computer as its already be register with Dell thus now no warranty, and lastly NO Help from Amazon other than to refer me back to Dell Tech support each time, where there is no warranty and PCOnline 365 who after voice msg after voice msg still has not to return my calls nor calls supposedly for Amazon. Overall this laptop is fine. Videos lag a little when connected to the newest generation of Dell docking station. For the most part everything works adequately but I'm very disappointed with the quality of the chassis. If you're using the trackpad and you rest your hand against the body of the laptop (the area around the pad) it clicks and the trackpad stops working. Essentially touching any part of the area around the pad causes accidental and miss-clicks this often happens when typing too because your palms naturally rest in this area when typing. It's extremely irritating and makes the laptop nearly unusable without a mouse and keyboard, which defeats the purpose of a laptop. I would like to return this and exchange for something more robust, but the trial period is over and I'm likely stuck with it. Read more
