Dell XPS 13 9300 vs 9310

CustomerJanuary 10, 2021✓ Verified purchase

Fantastic purchase BUT the *Dell XPS 13 9310* is the latest and greatest version with the 11th gen intel processor and integrated Xe graphics. It has better performance than this 10th gen intel model so make sure you know which ome you're getting before purchasing! Read more

Disappointed

disappointed customer of beach cameraJanuary 22, 2021✓ Verified purchase

First of all, when you buy such an expensive laptop, you feel that it should be perfect... right? Well, far from it. I was so disappointed to see that my headset can't be used when I do zoom or listen to other things (even though it pairs it but you can't select it). Also, sometimes you see a fuzzy screen all the sudden. Also, what made me return this laptop was that it got turned off and would not turn back on. Read more

Excellent hardware and Dell customer service; some glitches with drivers and Windows 10

Zabed MonikaNovember 7, 2020✓ Verified purchase

Overall, I am very happy with my Dell XPS 13 9300. The trackpad and touchscreen have excellent sensitivity, the webcam and keyboard are of much higher quality than my previous laptop (admittedly, a much cheaper Lenovo Ideapad) and the screen resolution and color reproduction, while not world-beating, are more than adequate for all but artists and graphic designers. Having 16gb of RAM has made a huge difference in running multiple browser tabs. As a middle school teacher working remotely, I need at least 20 tabs running simultaneously to teach a class online, several with videos queued up. Gone are the awkward delays and freeze-ups that would sometimes plague my previous 8gb machine. I should certainly mention that my XPS 13 stopped working entirely after 8 days - so why the four-star review? I couldn't have been more impressed with both Dell and Customer service; the prompt return calls, careful attention, allowing me plenty of options (repair or replacement) and ultimately replacing my laptop the very next day. It's a fact of life that complex machines can break; it's what happens after that in my opinion is most important. So, why not five stars? This new computer comes with the latest version of Windows 10, which is far more intrusive than I've experienced before. For example, there is no way to stop Cortana spying on you, disengaging Skype has become much harder, and installing the latest Dell drivers was made more challenging, in part because of changes to Windows firewall and bios. Specifically, it took almost two days of troubleshooting to diagnose and remedy an issue with the speaker driver - during which I was without sound. Nevertheless, my overall impressions have been very favorable and wholeheartedly recommend this laptop. Read more

Easy to setup and use

Joel HOctober 28, 2020✓ Verified purchase

This laptop is light and easy to use. Setup was a snap and there was very little bloatware that I had to remove from the system. The keyboard backlighting is a little dim for my eyes but the screen is clear and easy to read. Read more

Good when it works…

Kristin WesterhorstmannMay 11, 2023✓ Verified purchase

If this laptop didn’t have constant problems that have resulted in major issues with my job, I’d give it 5 stars. As it stands, however, I struggle to even give it 2. This laptop seems to be a perfect and expensive example of designed obsolescence. I bought this laptop and started using it in 2021 after doing a lot of research before making a significant investment in a dependable, high quality laptop for my business, hoping that would last a while. It was excellent for about 18 months and then I started having major issues. At about 18 months, it just stopped turning on. It was under the warranty I purchased, so I sent it in to be fixed. It took nearly 4 weeks to be fixed and when I got it back, Dell indicated that they replaced the entire motherboard. The laptop then worked for less than 2 hours before the exact same problem happened again and I had to send it back. I communicated these issues to Dell and they treated it like a brand new problem instead of the ongoing same issue with the laptop. They did the exact same fix (replacing the motherboard) and sent it back 4 more weeks later. In total, I was 8 weeks without a permanent laptop and they put a bandaid on the problem. Unsurprisingly, my laptop has had continuous issues ever since. I have to fiddle with it in the morning when I start my day for about 15-20 minutes before it even boots up, and then it constantly freezes and or “unexpectedly” restarts when I’m in the middle of working. I am an attorney and am in court often. When I’m out of town or traveling, I have to do court virtually. I also have strict deadlines to adhere to for filing pleadings or getting caught up on the case. It’s gotten to the point where I can no longer reliably use this for my business because it’s issues have resulted in missed deadlines or court appearances. Owning a business, I absolutely need a computer that I can count on. This isn’t it. This would have been expected had I paid $500 for it, but the purchase price was just under $2000 with the extended warranty. It feels like a lot of wasted money. Read more
