I’m giving this three stars because I feel like this is so odd, but it works. I ordered it to see if I could make my teeth whiter. Who doesn’t want whiter teeth, right? What I received is two spools similar to dental floss in function. One is marked coarse and one is marked medium for different grit. So far I’ve only used the coarse and figured I’d switch to medium after I’ve used it for a while and cleaned my teeth somewhat with the coarse grit first. Unlike dental floss, this is a tape. It’s narrow enough to still use on your teeth but it’s a tape. The directions say to slide it between your teeth and then go back and forth across the front of your teeth with the remaining tape. I found this difficult to do because if you go back and forth across the front, the end comes out from in between your teeth. However, I have been able to use it just by going back and forth in front of my teeth and skipping the part where you put the tape in between your teeth. I do find that it makes my teeth feel just a bit smoother so it stands to reason that if I keep using it, my teeth will become whiter. This review is for the "Dental Polishing Strips for Teeth Cleaning, Enamel Smoothing..." Considering that this is a product that actually scrapes on teeth, there were very poor instructions for use. I wasn't even sure how to remove the desired length of the product from the spool package. No cutter? I tried the lesser abrasive of the two and as other reviewers have said, I also could not get between most of my teeth. I am able to use floss picks every day so I assumed I would be able to use a floss tape. I guess the abrasive surface just makes it too thick. Where I was able to wrap it around the back of my tooth, I did notice that plaque was removed before brushing but I am afraid to use it often since there isn't any good documentation. Read more

They are commonly known as "zip strips" in the dental field, used for smoothing out sharp edges or for creating some space between teeth that are too tight. In short, for smoothing rough areas & finishing restorations, NOT for "cleaning". The listing for these strips promotes "Effective Double-Sided Polishing: Our strips feature dual-sided abrasive surfaces …Effectively remove stains, plaque, and tartar without damaging enamel" and "PRECISION CLEANING". They say they are "Tooth whitening strips." Anyone who has been to a dentist knows that cleaning, polishing and whitening are not done with abrasive strips. I checked with a dentist, not just a regular dentist, but a Clinical Assistant Professor at the USC School of Dentistry, about the use of these strips and the claims made in the listing. As noted above, in the hands of a dentist, the strips can be used appropriately, and safely, for smoothing out sharp edges or for creating some space between teeth that are too tight. But cleaning and polishing? No. Tooth whitening "without damaging enamel"? Sure, when you remove a layer of enamel with these strips the teeth may look whiter but you've destroyed the enamel in the process. It doesn't "re-grow"—it's permanently GONE! Bottom line, leave the cleaning, polishing and professional whitening to your dentist—who will do these without abrasive strips. If you have sharp edges on your teeth or spacing that’s too tight to fit dental floss, see your dentist—who may use abrasive strips, or who may have different, and more appropriate, solutions all together. DO NOT BUY THESE STRIPS TO WHITEN YOUR TEETH—unless you want to permanently ruin them!
