Sharp, quality tool

I've used some cheap dental tools, but whenever I used them, if I got them anywhere near fillings it was like chewing aluminum foil. This one doesn't do that. This is way sharper than those. I cleaned it and tried it out right away. It was 100% sharper and more effective. My teeth are smoother for sure. And maybe it's some kind of placebo effect, (maybe not, tho) but I think they look whiter, too. It's been about 2 years since my last dental appt, but now I have a tooth that's gonna need to be taken out. I'm glad to be able to get rid of more plaque and tartar before I see a new dentist. My gums are healthy, but my teeth aren't great. Lots of old filings. They have been wearing out and falling out, often taking parts of teeth along with them. My dentist, who we liked, retired. So being in search of a new dentist (and probably oral surgeon) I want my teeth as clean as possible to avoid negativity from new dental professionals. This tool works really well. Once I have my teeth professionally cleaned again, I'm planning to use it maybe once every week or 2, to keep my teeth cleaner and more tartar free. I have almost worthless dental insurance, so I don't go in to the dentist often enough. This will help keep them smoother and cleaner in between hygienist cleanings. This is worth the extra cost. Only negative is that it doesn't come with a reusable container to store it safely in. TL/DR: very sharp, high quality, made well with good materials, worth the slightly higher price. I definitely recommend this tool! Read more

Top of the notch tool

I rarely look at my teeth when I brush them. I noticed a weird rough surface at the back of my bottom-row teeth. So I inspected my lower teeth with a small mirror I could fit inside my mouth. I had a ton of calculus (tartar) build up. No matter how hard I brushed or used my nails to scratch, I couldnt get it off. It was annoying! I bought this item because I saw great reviews on it. Boy, I tell ya. Im glad I did. Its very sharp! I went online to read on how to scale. In matters of hours of reading and learning, I was scaling away at my teeth. I was amazed how effective it was in removing those tartar build up. I had spent a good 2 hours on my teeth with this scaler, and now my teeth looks BRAND NEW. I usually dont get too excited about putting sharp objects in my mouth, but this tool is really worth it. It will also help if you are going to whiten your teeth, which Im currently in the process of doing. Pros: Sharp and effective Two different tips for scaling Material is sturdy and well-made. Gives you the temperature of sterilization Made in Korea (not China) hahaha Cons: If you dont have good eye-hand coordination, you might end up tearing up your whole mouth The tips are huge. Personally, I thought they could have made it smaller. Doesnt come with instructions on how to use Doesnt give you a carrying pouch or container for this sharp tool Not made in Japan (Not really a con, but I thought it was funny to add) Read more

Best self prevention care

Very good top of the line dental tool for removing tartar buildup. Dentistry has become ineffective for myself. Im not paying $200 for unnecessary services that I can do myself. They neve sold me a definite prevention measure for controlling tartar. The complexity of the micro biome of the mouth still needs to be understood but most times it comes from diet. Well screw that, I like my sweets and coffee so I’ll just remove the barnacles myself. This tool is exactly specified to be less hard than your teeth, so don’t be afraid of “scratching” your teeth with them. It’s impossible unless your teeth are soft do whatever reason. It takes practice and patience and I managed to get really good at it within a year. It’s been super helpful. Only thing I recommend is getting an abrasive like the bone powder/arm and hammer to really polish your teeth afterwards. This is really important as a smooth surface makes it more difficult for those microbes to rebuild biofilms Read more

High Quality Dental Tool

I ordered one of these Osung dental scrapers 5 years ago and it works beautifully and is still as extremely sharp as the day I received it. I ordered one for my husband, who has periodontal issues. You must be very careful using this as the points are very sharp, but after 5 years, it is just as sharp as the day I received it. It is very durable, sharp and I have teeth that are Very close together and this tool is ultra thin and precise! I can't say enough 5 star things about it and I just reordered at a higher price than I paid 5 years ago ( about $3) bargain!!! You will be happy, but just handle with caution because this sucker is sharp and will remain so for years to come-- money well spent. Also before you use it, bring water to a boil in a wide, shallow saucepan and simmer the tool for about 5 minutes to sterilize it. Even though it is new, you must kill any bacteria that may be on it, as it is sharp and you might introduce unwanted bacteria into your mouth. This is true of anything sold to place in or on your person that is not sold in sterile packaging. Read more

Great tool!

I have always used the scalers sold at your local pharmacy, target, etc and I needed a new one, so I bought this one instead after some research online. It is quite sharp as mentioned online from other reviewers, so be careful, but it works pretty well. I did not need the whole entire set, so I bought this one alone, which is just fine with me. I also don't have a very bad case of plaque or tartar buildup, since I floss daily and brush daily. But this definitely helps. So I would recommend this product, and the price is justified because I think this will last a lot longer than those drugstore types. So buy with confidence. Read more
