I’ve used several derma rollers and am impressed with the quality of this one. I’ve done some research on what I can do to promote some positive results in filling in some of the patchy areas on my beard. I’ve found that using a derma roller in conjunction with topical minoxidil seems to be the preferred method of many. I started out using a .25 derma roller daily in conjunction with a beard growth serum containing minoxidil and didn’t notice any improvement. I switched to a .50 derma roller at three times a week in conjunction with a beard growth serum containing minoxidil, and now I’m using this 1.0 once a week. I have noticed some incremental improvements, which I’m quite pleased with. I had realistic expectations going into this and wasn’t expecting a lumberjack beard overnight, but overall I’m pleased with the incremental improvements I experienced. At the going rate of around $11.59, this is competitively priced and, in my opinion, a better quality product compared to the other items shown during a search for derma rollers. I have basically nothing but good things to say. The case it comes in is very nice for storing it, whether its on your bathroom counter or in a suitcase for travel, you'll know its secure and safe. The handle is nice, its smooth and easy to grip. I have had no issues with slipping or sliding. You can definitely feel it working, the tiny needles poking at you, but there's no pain or discomfort associated with it. I only have two very minor nitpicks. The first is that the wheel on it wobbles a tiny bit, nothing large enough to be any kind of issue, and I don't have concerns about it breaking. The second, is that if your like me, you should follow it up with some kind of moisturizing cream or oil on the rolled area. Sometimes it can be a little bit itchy on the spots a few minutes after using it, but even using a cheap lotion after really helps not only with the sensation, but also in general skin maintenance. If you’re looking to purchase a dermaroller be sure to pick up one with a needle length to accomplish your specific goals. Longer lengths help treat scars and wrinkles whereas shorter lengths are primary for cream absorption and rejuvenation. 1mm is typically what is recommended for stimulation of hair growth. The roller arrived hermetically sealed and in a nice plastic case. It is well made and easy to use and includes instructions for use as well. I had never used a dermaroller before. After the first use my face felt like it was on fire so it certainly is effective at puncturing the skin. After perforating my face for the first time subsequent uses have proved less painful so this is certainly a treatment that you will acclimate to.
