Rust?
I did purchase this scale but I did not get it from Amazon. I bought it to replace the same model in regular steel because the under carriage was falling apart. My old scale was placed next to my bathtub and that was the major issue. After a while when I moved the old scale there were rust marks on the floor. I did like the old scale and wanted a new one. The stainless steel one seemed like a better choice since I do not have anywhere else to keep it in my apartment. The stainless unit works fine but it seems that the under carriage is of regular steel. There are more rust stains appearing on my bathroom floor. If you have a drier spot in your home, this might be for you. I bought a Detecto because my doctor uses them in his office. It comes unassembled. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to put it together. If you can boil water you can do this. All you need is a screwdriver and a few other thing you might have in the junk drawer in your kitchen. One for the positive side that was kind of neat. The pedestal that you stand on is removable for cleaning. It lifts right off. I take it off and clean it with the sponge before I clean my wife's breakfast dishes. Read more
