DeWalt quality as expected. Lightweight for carrying, heavy duty for function. Fast to deploy, easy to level, easy to mount on. Fine vertical adjustments are completely on you, no little crank like it's lightweight counterparts. This isn't a deal breaker though, because those lightweight gimmicks are not worth the money. For that, you're better off buying a $20 camera tripod because that's all the name brand tool tripods really are anyway. 99% metal construction, the only plastic are the leg release levers, quarter inch mounting adapter, and buckles on the carrying strap. The only negative I can see is a 3-year warranty versus lifetime, but I don't ever expect this beast to break. If you're on the fence, this is the one to buy. Read more

This is a solid tripod for your laser or whatever else you need to mount. It is sturdy, plenty large to handle most rotary lasers with ease, and it's light enough to be easy to transport. I like the carry strap, and it's fast to set up and easy to get level. I also like that it's (apparently) all aluminum, and powder coated or plastic on other areas, so if you leave it in the rain it's not the end of the world and it doesn't seem to rust. Read more

I own 2 of these and use them for portable ham radio setups. Why 2 you ask? Parasitic vertical array is why. These tripods are lightweight and extremely stable. With adapter no issues with antenna mounting. I’ve operated in windy conditions of 30+ mph gusts and these held up very stable. Read more

As the description says, this tripod is a well made heavy duty unit. It's got a bubble level -- that's really way to small. Hard to use it to get the tripod level. In fact, leveling the tripod is the downside. You end up messing around raising and lowering the unit's big legs while squinting at the little bubble level. Not very user friendly or effective. In my opinion, the unit could use some fine tuning adjusters for the tool mount. There aren't any. That's why I dropped a star. . . Read more

Great heavy duty tripod. Doesn't hold great for wood floors but it's designed perfect for an outdoor construction site. Easily adjusts and works as it should. Price was reasonable for the quality. Read more

The quality and fit of the DeWalt tripod were and continue to be far beyond my expectations! My 1980's era Lienz transit T20 device with triangular base fit PERFECTLY on the triangular head, as if made for it. To emphasize, the quality and workmanship of this tripod are way and far beyond what I had expected! You will not be disapointed. One thing I would like is some kind of latching for the legs or a Y brace to prevent accidential collapse due to slippage. But NONE of the other manufacturers offer that. Perhaps it is this way to allow the surveyor to work the tripod level on unlevel and rough topopgrahical ground. But I love the quality, build, color -- everything! Thanks to Amazon for offering this product! Read more

I do excavation so I am using my transit almost daily and this tripod holds up to the abuse. I have went through a lot of cheap ones and from the second I pulled this one out of the box, I could tell it was well built. Great value for the money. The threads are universal but it fits my topcon great. I would recommend this tripod if you are looking to buy one. Read more
