My intention was to buy a floor lamp to place behind the headboard of my bed. To use for reading, just wantng something dimmable. This minimalist floor lamp is perfectly suited for mood lighting for the bedroom. Not so much for reading. It is a really fun floor lamp that has many modes of lighting. 'the ad in 'amazon does not give justice to this light. It is truly amazing. I am so wonderfully suprised at all the lamp offers. A remote control that allows the user to change colors and color patterns. It even senses music and the lighting "dances" as it senses the music playing in the room. I was not expecting all of these features and I love it. I havent added the app and paired the light to a phone. The instructions show even more options using the app. I can't imagine needing more? Assembly was super simple and you are afforded extra hardware. I would definitely buy again and recommend this to anyone that desires a minimalist floor lamp that is just the coolest mood light for the bedroom you could want. These lights were 95% easy to assemble. Balancing them to get the screws into the base of the only tricky part. Worth it. I've lived in my size for many years. These lamps added such warmth and much needed light to a space that was insufficiently lit for most gatherings and solo activities. Good quality lighting that is easy on the eyes and the wallet. This lamp is as described. I think it was a bit too expensive for what you get. But then again, everything is 25% higher since early 2025 for some reason. I miss the days when you could buy Chinese branded and manufactured items at low prices. Moving on to the features... I hate that this does not work with my Google Home (Hey Google turn the lights on) or Alexa/Apple. I got around that by buying a cheap smart plug and plugging it in. Thank goodness that the default setting is ON when you plug the lamp in. So I just set the smart plug up and named it living room lamp. So I can at least turn the lamp on with all of my other lights. HOWEVER, you cannot use voice to change colors, dim or brighten, etc. I love how the lamp looks! It is contemporary and modern looking. I wish you swivel the arching arm without having to move the entire lamp base. It makes some corners a bit difficult to position because your range of motion is reduced because you just don't have as much flexibilty to fine tune the position, For this price point you should be able to. I cannot tell where the mic is for the "lights to music" feature. It says the remote but I've removed the batteries and the lights seem to flash to the music but definitely very poorly. In fact, it may just be lighting up at a standard beat that appears to match the music in some capacity. Other times, it's spot on. So I don't know. The remote is not a rubber button that you press. it is a capacitive controller and is a bit finicky to use. I would say "touchy" but that isn't true and also sounds like a bad pun. The brightness control has to be be pressed once, released and then held in to brighten or dim. It is not in any manual but Google Gemini told me how to get it to work. The light is bright. It has many colors. The remote is just not that easy to operate if you want to fine tune a color. The more you use it, the more muscle memory seems to help. Summary: I use this because I have only lamps in my apt and wanted a ways to have light to come from above and also not look like a lamp you have in a college dorm. So for that purpose it is fine.
