When I ordered this light, I was skeptical. I didn't think a light source that looked like a stick would be sufficient lighting for my room. I was even more convinced when I saw it. To me, it looked even less able to do the job than I originally thought. Since I had ordered the item, I figured I may as well put it together and turn it on. Good decision! The assembly took less than five minutes, made longer when I dropped one of the screws and had difficulty finding it. Once I had, I plugged it in. Wow! I didn't have to go to the highest setting in order to more than adequately cover my 14 foot by 20 foot living room. At the highest setting, it is almost too bright. It's a big room, and if I use this as my primary light - and from now on I will - I can get by at the mid setting. The light plugs into my outlet and comes on when I flip the wall switch. It remembers my last setting. I read a couple of reviews from others who claimed problems with this function. Just to be sure, I turned it on and off a few times. Never had a problem - it remembered the setting each time. I even ran through the three different intensities and turned the wall switch on and off. The light came on to the correct setting. I'm extremely impressed with this light. I'm ordering a second light soon for another room. Why not? The price is good, the lighting is excellent, and this light looks incredible. Came exceptionally well packaged. Provided excellent lighting. One problem is that the light was not plumb on the base. Had to add felt pads on one side for it to be at 90 degrees with the floor. It would not be an issue if it is not next to a corner or other straight line for comparison. The helix design camouflages the lack of plumb. I did not return it as the pads fixed the problem and it would be more trouble to return it. Read more

The picture makes it look crooked which it isn’t. To put it together it’s only two screws put into the base. It’s sturdy. The light has three settings. It is very bright on the highest, almost uncomfortably so. I use the lowest the most. I like how modern and thin it is and you can move it around to where you want the light. Because it twists it is hard to get the light to exactly where you need it to shine but you just have adjust it. It would be nice if it had a swivel at the base for this. I asked how long these would last since there isn’t a “bulb” to change and they told me 20-30 years . Wow, that’s a long time I hope it holds up cause the light looks awesome. Read more

I needed a light in my living room to brighten it up, this did the trick. Not only do I get my choice of brightness, but it is a beautiful addition to my home! I have a very eclectic design in my living room and this lamp fits right in. It is beautiful turned off and more so turned on! It has a dimmer switch it feels sturdy, and my husband put it together in minutes. If you want something to spruce up a room, and offer a low light or a bright light this is it ! Beware! If you look directly at the lamp, you may burn a hole in your retina. And, oddly enough, this lamp is not even bright enough to light up a small room. How is this possible?! I would not recommend purchasing this lamp if you’re planning to wrap up in a blanket, sit on your sofa, and read your favorite book. This lamp is definitely not made for that. However, if you’re looking for a cute conversation piece, you may want to consider buying it. Before you buy it though, keep in mind that it’s not a tall lamp. I’m 5’2” and it doesn’t even reach my shoulders. Also, it’s very lightweight and somewhat cheap looking, but from a distance, it looks fine (if you don’t mind the cheap look). So, go for it if you’re looking for a conversation piece that isn’t very bright or, if for some bizarre reason, you are interested in burning your retinas. And, finally, my 14 year old son thinks it’s pretty cool. He unboxed it and put it together in less than five minutes.
