First off, these are not the more expensive BIC lighters you see. These are the transparent cheap-o lighters you see at convenience stores. That being said, these are perfectly fine lighters and all work just fine. The package arrived with the lighters (10 each of 5 different colors) bundled into a zipped plastic bag and laid upon the plastic holder. I think the seller has rethought their shipping method and the holding tray for the lighters was unbroken upon arrival. My parcel also arrived two days ahead of the suggested shipping date. Not a problem within the least, and actually quite a breath of fresh air. For the price, this is a great deal. Yes, they're not "premium" type lighters, but do you really need to spend a bunch of extra money on "premium" lighters? These make fire, work well, and last for a decent amount of uses. Hopefully these will be able to last me and my housemates for quite a while. However, once they run out (and they eventually will) I look forward to repeating this purchase. Only downside is that one of the lighters came busted and I had to test each one to make sure they worked. Probably 10 of them were misaligned, putting out too much or too little flame. I was able to pop the metal cap off and tweak the plastic gauge to get them all settled - then reinsert the metal caps. 49/50 lighters worked great, and I am distributing them as Christmas gifts. This product is great for a few reasons. 1. Cheap. About 25 cents per lighter. 2. It comes with a stand for easy display. 3. It comes with multiple colors to satisfy any mood you may have. Mine came with a reddish orange color, blue, dark purple, green, and light purple/pink. I ordered from the seller "MarketCentral" and my product came not one, not two, but THREE days before expected delivery. I received it in a whopping two days and it was shipped from halfway across the country! I stated my seller name because I believe this seller is the best you could ask for. Only ONE lighter out of the whole pack didn't work, and it was due to a mechanical error. These lighters were shipped IN the stand, not a plastic bag like most have stated. These were ACE lighters, not those Mk brand that have been reported by not only reviewers but by news stations and safety reports. If you want to be sure of what you're getting shop with MarketCentral. No other review I've seen states the shop name where they bought it from, so I decided I'd save everyone a little trouble and name the seller that I had a high success with. These are as described, came in a nice display box that the lid can fold up and be a backdrop for the lighters. It takes a couple strikes to get them going the first time it didn’t really bother me too much as I enjoyed sitting there playing with him and they’re nice little lighters Read more
If you have a wholesale account, chances are you can get a way better deal for resale. For personal use (and stocking stuffers for smokers), this is a great deal. As other reviewers point out, these lighters can be hard to flick and the flame is inconsistent across units. No big deal for me. Usually, two or three flicks and you're set. Note that the seller seems to be distributing overstock items, which means you won't get exactly what is in the image. That said, it's 50 lighters in multiple colors. My package was a Solar (not Ace) brand case ready for display and sale, if you so wish. Just four colors: translucent/see-through blue, purple/pinkish, orange, and yellow. Packaging was very well-done. The seller wanted to ensure minimal, if any, DOAs. Package was even clearly marked "fragile" (didn't stop the wife from shaking the crap out of the package. No duds yet! I would definitely buy again as my better half is always misplacing lighters. LOL Read more
I am sorry I have to give these one star to write this warning. These are THE worst lighters I have ever TRIED to use! The description here does not tell you but the box does, these are "childproof". That is bad enough on a good lighter but on these it just helps to make them completely unusable. My thumbs are shredded and thick with blisters from trying to light these and keep them lit. The wheel is hard to impossible to move. Usually the flint will spark but even at the highest flame setting the flame will not appear or appears for a split second and disappears (yes, I am holding that "childproof" tab down the entire time). The boxes of 50 and 100 that they sell are all the same. Save your money and your fingers, pass on these they are complete, useless junk! TIP: If you are stuck with these, try popping the back of the lighter head by the childproof tab up so the entire head is sitting at an angle then try lighting it. Frequently this will actually allow the lighter to make a flame that will stay lit! Read more
