I hurt my back and can't sleep flat on my back or on my left side. I use a CPAP so I can't sleep on my stomach either. I am restricted to only sleeping on my right side, night after night. This puts the heel of my left foot in contact with the bed all night long. After a few months of sleeping this way I discovered that I had developed some type of contact sore that was very painful. But what to do? For a while I slept with a soft shoe on my left foot, but it made my foot very warm and that made it difficult to sleep. Then, one day, I had a bright idea - check Amazon to see if anyone else could recommend something. And that is how I found this product - a specially designed Heel Cushion "pillow slipper". You slip it onto your foot, close the hook and loop fastener and go to bed. That's it. The slipper is very soft and after a bit you barely feel it. Also, the hook and loop closer keeps it on your foot for the whole night. At first it came off so I started using paper tape to hold it on for the night. But after a few nights I decided to skip the tape and I just make sure to close the fastener tightly. It holds very well and is quite comfortable. Ok, now to the good part >>> It works a treat! My heel is still resting on the bed, but the plush softness of the slipper keeps it from getting sore. Now that I am using this slipper, I can see my heel is getting better and doesn't hurt any more! Glad I found it. I was skeptical, because I expected it to be too warm, too easily lost in the bed during the night, or too uncomfortable. It was none of those things! And I highly recommend it to anyone who, like me, suffers from "a bed sore on the heel". Give it a try. Excellent product and not expensive. Read more

My grandma had a "major" Stroke while in the hospital for a bad case of pneumonia she picked up in a rehab center for Cellulitis care in 2018. While intubated the hospital out her in "moon boots " (boots that went up to her calf) to prevent pressure sores. These were okay while she was not alert but, a great source of frustration when she was fully present again. As they were heavy when in her wheelchair. Being told it was highly unlikely she would bounce back from this stroke was hard for her and in some ways myself as she was always a force to be reckoned with ; in her 90s she seemed more like 60 . A diagnosis of" Respiratory failure" made Bipap at night a must and sore prevention for heels were must. Thankfully I have a friend who is a paraplegic and helps me find new aides for Grandma. He came across these gems. They are absolutely fantastic for Grandma she wears them every night and sometimes while in her wheelchair. P.T. was even impressed with them. They use them for grandma leg raises. She's gaining the ability to move her legs again but walking is still unclear. I am so grateful that these are available here and brought to my attention for grandma comfort . Would definitely recommend to others. Read more

I don't like to downgrade a product unless it is bad which makes this a hard decision. The product itself is made well and is of good quality. It washes well and is quite soft. When first getting these I thought they were going to be terrific. The problem arises when actually using them. My elderly mother needs protection of her heels from getting bed sores as she is confined to a bed a good part of her day. These are wonderful as far as comfort. BUT... they are so fluffy and bulky that they will tangle up in sheets if she tries to roll over or move at all in the bed. After a couple hours they have turned sideways or pulled almost off. It is a great made product but less than acceptable actual use. If you lay in bed on your back and don't use any covers and don't move positions, I recommend these. Otherwise, they are not practical. I bought these twice for two separate people, both bed-bound. They are the most comfortable pillow protectors I could find that do the job, and are very easy to put on and take off. Yes, they are definitely not as secure as others, but not because of the Velcro strap. From my experience the Velcro strap stays in place but the pillow is easy for the person to slide on/off if they put their mind to it. You have to keep an eye out for this if you buy them. Otherwise, very good. Read more
