Must-have tool for easy contact removal

ACeeKayWaDecember 8, 2025✓ Verified purchase

My gas-perm hard contacts were becoming difficult to remove due to droopy eyelids. I finally remembered having a tool like this when I was first fitted for contacts decades ago. These are NOT your grandmother's lens removers! They are just the right size and perfectly pliable. So easy to place them on the contact, and a slight pressure grabs it. Out it comes. The best part is the individual plastic case to keep the tool clean when not in use. Great value! Read more

These are great for removing my scleral contact lens. For HARD lenses, not soft.

I just found out I have keratoconus which causes my cornea to be very oddly shaped. No one could ever correct my vision in my left eye and no one knew why. Finally, I found an eye doctor who immediately knew what was going on. To correct this situation, I need a contact lens called a scleral or "big" lens. This is a hard, really big contact that covers the whole eye and part of the white of the eye. And BOY did it change my vision. I can see 20/15 now when before, I saw a blurry big E and that was it! The problem with these big lenses is that they're tricky to put in and take out. I briefly wore soft contacts and could just pinch them out of my eyes but that can't be done with this hard lens. The plunger is the only way I can remove the lens. It easy grasps onto my lens and allows me to remove it painlessly. It also holds onto the lens so it doesn't end up lost. These lenses are very, very expensive so I can't afford to lose the one I have. If you have soft contacts, this tool won't work well. These plungers are for hard contacts and they work like a charm. I like that these are each in their own little case. I carry one with me in my purse, another in my glove compartment, and one at home. They're simple but necessary for me to safely remove my lens. I got the three pack and the price was great. For me, these are absolute must haves. If you have hard contacts or scleral ones, these plungers will get the lenses out of your eyes fast, easily, and with no discomfort. They can be used to insert the lenses as well but I use a different tool for that. Read more

Great Product and you get what you pay for! - 14 years hard contact user

DavidJune 27, 2017✓ Verified purchase

These are plungers specifically for taking out hard contacts. I have personally been wearing hard contacts under OrthoK for around 14 years, and these plungers have been invaluable for taking out hard contacts. There are two methods to take out hard contacts, the plunger, and the "blink method". I can do both, but for me, the plunger is just a bit faster, so I usually do that on the daily. Because these can be very small, I tend to lose them pretty easily, so i decided to hop onto amazon to buy a 3 pack. It was slightly pricey, but well worth it. My original plunger was very dusty, so it wouldnt immediately remove the contact on first try, as the suction wasn't that good (Protip: If your plunger ever gets like that, quick rinse under water will help regain its suction in no time.) Thus, when buying these, the intial suction right out of the box was great, and was very easy to take out hard contacts. I've tried all sorts of plungers at the eye doctor, and online buying etc. but this 3pack you get what you paid for- very good suction, and it comes with the little tube to hold it in (color doesn't matter to me, only functionality). What's good about having the tube is that if you are diligent about keeping your plunger in the tube and closing it everyday, you'll be hard pressed to find it losing its suction. Otherwise, if you're a bit more lazy, you can just rinse the plunger occasionally for suction, and use the tube for travel purposes. Either way, great product, you get what you paid for, but remember that this is only for hard contacts. Read more

Good Lens Tool

Violet BunnyNovember 24, 2017✓ Verified purchase

These are great for removing lenses, as I have dry eyes & wear RGP contacts. (Can't wear soft lens due to astigmatism.) Often I need to remove the lenses midday, clean, & re-wet them, but as my eyes are so dry, I can't "pop" the lenses out & have resorted to picking them off my eyes with my fingernails. These have solved that problem. (Wonder why my optometrist hasn't told me about this product? He does know of my dry eye problem.) However, they just won't work for inserting the lenses, as the lens insists on sticking to the tool instead of going onto my eye. So I'll continue to insert the lenses with my fingers, as that's never been a problem for me. Read more

If you've ever had to dig a wayward lens from the back of your eyeball with just your fingertip, you will fall on your knees in appreciation after you've used one of these things instead. Read more

Works great!

PaulOctober 21, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I had always had the remover that you squeezed to make a vacuum for it to stick to the contact and I was disappointed when I got these and it was just solid cup. Man I was totally wrong these work way better! Just put a drop of solution on the cup and it grabs the contact everytime! Love it! Read more

The ones in 2020 were great. Bought some in Jan 2026. They don't work. None - at all.

If I could give a zero star, I would. I bought some of these in 2020. They were great. They lasted a long time. I have lost them along the way and decided to order more. I bought these in Jan 2026. These are horrible! I had a rigid gas permeable (hard) contact slip off. I could not get my contact out with ANY in the package. I wish I had tested these before needing them. Read more
